vashsgirl
I cannot open the console with the usual '~' method. I'm running the Steam GotY edition of Morrowind, with MGE XE, MCP and MPP. I've tried: key remapper and macro editor in MGE XEadding -console in Steamlocating an infrared transceiver in my Device Manager (is none)locating the 'allowconsole' in the Morrowind ini file (is none) Nothing worked. I'm using a Windows 8 Asus laptop with a Japanese keyboard. Does anyone know a fix? Or, is there a mod to force the console open? Thanks so much! vashsgirl
Thanks for the link! But I've already tried pushing every key and even some combinations of keys. Nothing. Any other ideas?(Have played the game many times, and want the console mainly for getting unstuck and for coc-ing)
vashsgirl
Whoa! Console suddenly works! BUT...I can't type single or double quotes. I've tried: many key combinationsremapping key in MGE XE (no effect)switching between keyboard modes (English US keyboard and Japanese Microsoft IME) (no effect) Anyone found a workaround? Here's what I did to get the console working. First, uninstalled Morrowind. Then uninstalled/reinstalled Steam in C:/Games folder (I heard the default C:/ProgramFiles can cause problems). Then reinstalled Morrowind, MCP, MGE XE and MPP. Then used the Macro Editor in MGE XE to map Console 1 to the F2 key. Don't know which step fixed it. Dragon32
Well good you fixed it, but I really don't know about the quote marks problem. Can MGE XE be directed to press one of those keys? Or could you define a user macro, which is just pressing the key?
vashsgirl
I'll experiment with those ideas...maybe, lol. Don't want to have install again. Thanks!
