NPC's waaay to hard

So, I'm running a lot of mods, and I'm finding that several of the NPC groups (bandits, etc.) are too hard and too high of a level for me to stand a chance. I typically win fights by standing on high rocks and then blasting with fireballs, but I'm trying to join the mages' guild, and the question with all the marauders in the fort is killing me. I don't stand a chance against two of those guys, let alone an entire fort. I'm pretty sure their difficulty is a result of a mod. Below is my list. Please help me ascertain what's controlling the level of the NPC enemies, and help me modify it so I stand a chance. Thanks!

You are right, at low levels most of these foes are more than a match to your PC. The advise is trying to outrun then for a while and building some levels.

You can try (shameless self propaganda :) ) the Afinity Sword mod. With cunning and luck you can obtain it dealing with just one enemy in the quest... This sword is designed to be ideal for using with these mods you have, but it's not a cheat yet a powerful weapon. And better will be so don't matter the level of your char, even mages may enjoy it.

PS: if you try the mod, please give it a comment and the rating you deem fair. The user opinion, mainly his judgment about the 'power' of the weapon is useful at helping to balance it.

Why are they so tough?

Maybe because of these mods.

Chance of stronger bosses. - bosses were tough enough to kill, now they are a lot tougher.

Chance of stronger enemies - harder to kill, higher enemy skill level.

Chance of more enemies - where you might have had only one, now you may face 3

These are intended to make life tougher for your character. Either disable them to get passed the really tough parts, or turn down the difficulty level.

If you don't want to make it easier, I recommend Umbra's sword. She has no ranged weapon, you can find a place she can't reach and pelt her with fireballs and arrows. It takes a lot of fireballs and arrows so stock up. (a hundred iron arrows are not enough) She has a good set of armor too. The sword will eventually have to be given to a Daedra lord to complete a quest, but there is no need to hurry that. Use it for a while at low level before doing the quest. I have killed Umbra at level 1, but it takes time (and a lot of arrows)

*nod* It has to be those mods. I was able to kill bandits alright (I needed lots of potions), but it's doable.

Umbra is nice.

You don't actually have to turn the sword in either. You can chose not to when you go back to the shrine. You just won't get the CVile's mask (which isn't a huge loss imo).

I'm having the Same Problems but I have ArmoryLab.esp Installed which has An Alchmey Lab which uses Master Level Equipment to make Stronger Potions to Help you through the tough times.
