smilydeth
Could some magnificent modder please make a mod that turns the burnt books in the game into Pre-war books? Please?!
montky
an excellent question;https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4035940-readable-books/above: this project is ongoing. there is the above -there is also a windowed applet, which allows seamless streaming to archive sites, like Project Guttenberg, with a layered transparency overlayed to cause it to look 'pre-war damaged'.this will incidentally also function for e-comics etc. I hope this helps give you some options in the interim.good luck, and happy fallout4'ing! BlazeStryker
There's a new mod out meant to completely remove burnt books, comics, and magazines from the game. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/35188 is that mod's page. Personally, I have another idea. Why not make the things give proper scrap? Comics give dye and 4 to 8 paper. Magazines give 1 plastic (the glossy pages) and 5-17 paper. Books give 2 wood or leather and a glue (the binding) and anywhere from 10 to 30 usable paper, denoting damage.
pra
Adding scrap components to burnt books is trivial. Is there really no mod which does just that? I'd be more interested in readable books, though. That project mentioned above never got anywhere, but they tried pretty much the worst approach possible imo. I have an idea right now how to make a probably okay-ish book mesh. Though, IMO the biggest problem would be: which texts would you even put into the books? I honestly did not understand one single word of that PM. I have only wild speculations about what you were trying to tell me. My approach would be a rather simple one: take one of those "note" meshes which can be used to make readable in-game notes, and then use nifskope to edit a book mesh into it. So that it looks as if the note is a book page instead. It would probably look a little weird, since the text would always be only on the left (or right) page of the book, and the other side would probably be outside of the screen, but I think it would be better than nothing.
