settlement not recognized

Hi all,

Croup Manor doesn't seem to be connected to my overall inventory even though I have assigned 2 provisioners.

For example, if I try to build the heavy machine gun turret it says I can't b/c I need 2 gears and have zero. Then if I go to say sanctuary I have over 100 gears and can build heavy turrets.

Also, croup manor shows up in the supply line graphic when I press the letter C in the pip boy map, but if I try to assign a settler to do a supply route to croup manor from another settlement, croup manor isn't in the list anymore.

Any help appreciated,

thanks, Llew

Check your PipBoy settlement list to see if there's an entry called "Commonwealth". If there is, then you've added settlements through mods and some of those mods have broken parts. Or you're using mods that alter vanilla settlements but those mods somehow screw-up the supply lines. This is often the result of tinkering with the map marker and adding wrong info to it.

YES there is a commonwealth in the list. I've got quiet island, city of quincy and country house on. I guess I can turn them off one by one to see if the problem can be fixed?

You can try, but the worst case szenario will be, that your save is already lost beyond redemption. If something messes settlements up, it wont be repaired by uninstalling the mod causing it.

Like SharraShimada said, once you've had a CommonWealth entry, you're bound to run into trouble later on in the game anyway (glitches, CTDs, etc.), regardless of finding and deleting the culprit. Although I've never used any of the three settlement mods you mention (had over eighty settlements at one point but haven't played the game in six months), my guess the error comes from the Quincy settlement mod. Quincy has too many overlapping territories in the neigbourhood and a lot of problems come from the quarry which holds Vault whatsitsnumber.

Any mod with a plug-in that has been installed influences the savegame in some form or other. Deleting such a mod halfway through a game will always have consequences further down the line. Sometimes it's non gamebreaking glitches, other times it's crashes when venturing into certain areas, and still other times the game will simply refuse to boot... unless of course you manage to load a save from before you installed the bad mod, but that often makes you lose hours and hours of gameplay, sadly...
