Dark0ne
You just know he is going to rinse Oblivion dry. Very few voice actors, Oblivion gates, bad leveling system...what else will be on the hate list?
SpacemanSpIiff
Wait, thats going to happen tonight? I cant wait. He rightously puts bad games in their place. Although i know without a doubt hes going to tear oblivion apart, post before me nailed it on the head as to why. *shrug* oh well.

Dark0ne
Meh..I thought there were better things to poke at than the locations. Too many people put stock in the cliché Diablo 2 style "grass, sand, jungle, mountain" locations as though every game has got to be a world scrunched up into 5 square miles of playable area. I actually like Bethesda for keeping their games to specific regions rather than creating whole worlds. Similarly the c+p thing is retarded...perhaps he hasn't got a great eye for scenery or something. I know Bethesda sent some of their designers to university to learn about how the natural world develops and it definately shows in Oblivion. Some of the locations look gorgeous and, best of all, natural and feasible and it's something I give Bethesda great credit for.
tokingtolkien
Agreed Dark0ne but I still find ZP funny.ZP is right all the flaws of Oblivion can be summed up in one word "Immersion" and how to break that. My uber level 30+ character still gets his butt kicked by legion guards, why couldn't THEY close a O gate or two for example. Some of the people on that site's board asked why ZP didn't mention the leveling he did "Immersion" my above character gimps himself because now he can't get high stats because I didn't chart out his progression with a spreadsheet now he gets killed by a leveled Lich, Immersion breaking. This is the beauty of mods. Immersion restoration. I like what SirronTM from that borad says, The prison bit? Well I ASSUME that my character was doing time for copyright theft after he was caught in possession of 12 complete bootleg copies of "The Biography of Berenziah", and 5 copies of a poor quality rip off of "A Less Rude Song" titled "A Sort of Polite Thing to Sing". He has previous convictions, most notably for drawing a series of humourous cartoons depicting Daedra, and for peddling beetles as "baby silt striders". :teehee:
WoogieMonster
Actually, that was far less brutal than I was expecting. You have to keep in mind that he'll even crucify a game that he likes, so considering his opinion of RPGs I think he restrained himself quite a bit. And yes, it was funny as hell. He made very valid points about the VANILLA game though. thank god most of it (aside from the voice acting) was fixed. And i love how he has a vendetta against JRPG's. good stuff. finniksa
I love Oblivion, but I also thought his review was funny and fair (for vanilla in particular). Sure, he has a point with the copy/paste stuff, etc... I mean that's why we have Unique Landscapes and tons of other mods. :bunny:
Tchos
I enjoy Yahtzee's reviews, though this one was rather tame. I guess he didn't hate it that much. ^_^ Or, he'd already used up any relevant criticism on Fable, and found this to be an improvement. I'll never look the same way at the random overheard conversations. "What's going on with you?" "I ran into a mudcrab the other day." School play rehearsal indeed! Someone should give him a copy of Shivering Isles, though, to get some more variety in the landscapes, and tell him to play a stealth character since he liked Thief so much.
