Very nice. Another flame war. I wonder who's gonna get the most subnested quotes going before this one gets locked.

I hope this thread doesn't get locked. I stopped replying to him.

And again, please, on topic. I don't like it when my threads go off topic.

So yeah, to further conclude, another dragon break is highly unlikely as well as going to a previous province, or a full on province proper. If it were to happen it would be the most ambitious Bethesda extra to ever be made, and contemporary Bethesda and ambition are far from synonymous anymore. I figure a mixture of Plug in type DLCs and maybe an expansion or two. Most likely to a Daedric Realm, Island, or something entirely new. I'd go back to Stros' M'kai, since it wasn't an ES proper. One thing is for sure, that the terrain and setting will be unlike the barren snows and forests of Skyrim, in the latter DLCs. Or maybe even in the first ones. But we can only go by what Beth says, whats observed, and how it was done in the past. Edited by Fortunado3

Well I hope those roads end up going somewhere. Beth said they intended to release several extensive DLC packages and having open ended roads going into the distance we can't get to seems too good of an opportunity to pass up. It is all just speculation of course, but I have yet to meet a player in person who hasn't said they wonder where those roads are going to go. It seems like an exploring game to me and the existing terrain is already so full of stuff, its hard to find a place to put anything without landing smack in the middle of something that might be important to the game. When you move off the map into those areas, there is a ton of close up terrain work already done, but with no actual content. Just ripe for new territory that we have no way of exploiting that I know of. So I am hoping Beth is going to do something with it. If there is some way we can use it, I would love to know what that is. My Warehouse mod is a pretty large structure and I need room for expansion to build what I want to do. I spent hours looking for someplace to place my buildings in the Tamriel World space and it was not easy finding a spot that was larger than a small hut that did not already have something on it. I still had to move somethings around and it is a pain to do without losing things. It is astounding the amount of work that went into the "Wilderness."

I guess it is fashionable to be negative on Bethesda these days. It always seems a lot of people show up to be negative on the most successful companies. I admit that I'm a little peeved at the restrictions they built into the CK, but I guess that is to be expected. However, the game itself is pretty impressive to be slamming Beth for not being ambitious enough. And they have expressly promised to release some pretty extensive DLC for Skyrim before they move on to the next actual game. But, hey, I'm sure we will see in time. Maybe they will disappoint me, and maybe they won't. But I am sitting here looking into a CK window into Tamriel watching the grass blowing on the tundra west of Whiterun and my (admittedly easily entertained) mind is simply fascinated that they have things set up so the wind blows in the CK. Now that is cool. Why would they do that? It is just my opinion of course, but I think highly successful companies rarely pay much attention to the critics, but pay much more attention to the fans. And I think if they want to please their fans and make a bunch more money off of Skyrim, they will take those open roads to new cities with new quests and give Skyrim lovers something new to explore, with one big new quest to follow down each road into the unexpected. I thought the stories they wrote for Skyrim were so good, I played through each of them at least twice, some more and spent almost 1000 hours in the game before I started modding. Now I have spent hundreds of fascinated hours building things for the pure fun of it. So I am not sure how much more ambitious they are supposed to be?

Not really. There are huge ES fundamentals missing from Skyrim. Mods have made up for some of them, but still not all of them. People have been saying this since before Oblivion, and even after Daggerfall, so its obviously not some 'people bash on new successful companies'. Thank god for modders. Why I stay over here and rarely go to the official Beth Forums anymore.

This has denigrated far enough to get a lock.

Start another unfounded flame bait/ troll topic and you will find the results quite unpleasant.
