merlgrey Posted November 8, 2017 Share Posted November 8, 2017 I found a helpful post that explained that this update was to separate out the Creation Club stuff so that they would no longer have to update the .exe and break the script extender. Would have saved me a lot of anguish. The official note: Changed logic for how Creation Club content is initialized certainly did not convey that. Then, it went on to explain that you CAN tell Steam not to update automatically and that there is a way to download older versions from the depot. Link here. Knowing that there was, somewhere, a way to stop Steam from updating, I found the "BIG PICTURE" icon which looks like a console controller on the library tab of Steam. Then you go to Manage Game and it is all very clear. That is a much better interface, particularly for me who am on the big TV. Note: You do need some technical skill to download from the depot.
