MultipleEarth Saga: Seeking Freedom and a New Home

Shazz was forced to rely on the local muties, both transformed and those still wild. Increasingly more muties were being attracted to Greenhaven, to the fertile sphere, but though most were friendly enough, were open to testing-transforming, an increasing number were hostiles who refused the test-transformation process, who tended to fail such anyway and to fail in various exotic ways. The results of failure had changed as if the testing-transforming process itself was evolving to suit the situation; it was most strange.

Shazz stood on top of what had become known as Watch Hill, that was being fortified with ditches and sandbags. From there he could still just see the minehold but RedCastle was well out of sight over the horizon, being off to one side from Gaedric0987. Muties brought in information but transformed muties were now going out on scouting missions, on patrols and taking up sentry duty in a series of disguised observation outposts. Fortification construction had also begun as a series of larger fortified outposts and larger forts in from the boundary. He used a pair of powerful binoculars recently manufactured inside the TransGlobe.

They had found a way to activate more special functions in the TransGlobe including a powerful transduplicator, a transhealer, a transformator and a transcommunicator. Items were soon being rejuvenated and duplicated. freefolk were having special healing done to them along with animals and plantimals, the transformator was manufacturing from basic raw materials a wide range of basic items including many parts to be assembled later and with the transcommunicator they were trying to reach out to other peoples.

Shazz stood on the hill, still sweeping the horizon with the binoculars, as assembled from transformated parts, when a courier came to him. The former mutie was a woman in tough travel gear and she carried an autorifle, that is a sturdy reliable but basic automatic rifle that fired powerful cased bullets. The calibre was a 5.56mm one from Derra's home world and attached to it was a grenade-launcher for 30mm grenadeshells, also from the same world. Indeed the gun type was known as an AKM16A3. Also attached to it were a 25zz xolasergun and a unfolding bayonet knife along with a bottle-opener. A special sight had basic optical zoom and night-vision capacity along with a red target laser.

The woman spoke. "Word has come in, Lord Shazz, of a large hostile force of dangerous muties approaching us from the north-west. Though they are poorly armed-armoured in general, there are many of them including massive armoured ones of great physical strength. Their pathfinder force will reach the boundary in about two hours for they are moving much more quickly than the main force."

Lord Shazz? Shazz accepted the title because it made things easier but it still made him uncomfortable to hear it coming from the mouths of others. He did not like the sound of what was happening and had a strong 'impression' that Old Devil Man himself, the crazy superhuman, was behind the attack. The Old Devil Man was cunning, was highly intelligent, and it would make sense that he would send such an attack to test, to weaken or even divert Shazz from making any efforts to infiltrate or attack the minehold. When Shazz had got to the mutie village he had said far too much to the disguised Old Devil Man; now he was paying for it.

Shazz had no desire to kill lots of muties, even if he could do so. Yet Greenhaven had to be defended against such a savage attack. He returned to the TransGlobe from where he would command the defensive forces. Once there he went to the Special Command Control Chamber, open to only a very few to enter, and there he started to take reports, feed-back and suggestions from his people out in the field. He also sent out orders from there, both more general and more specific in nature.

MultipleEarth Saga: Seeking Freedom and a New Home

As Shazz was preparing to do battle with the large mutie army approaching Greenhaven, Derra was trying to communicate with a non responding RedQueen while trying to figure a way for her group to escape from the prison they were in.

With a strange shimmering effect and a soft hhhmmm hhhmmm noise, a large red boulder materialized out of mid air to appear amongst many others of its kind. Except there was no harm done to anything alive, which was remarkable. The TARDIS became fully solid in its disguise of a false outer shape. Only a small lizard creature noted the appearance and all it did was to move so that it could get back into the sunshine again. The fake boulder had a few small hollow areas the lizard could dive into if danger approached.

Inside the Central Command Control Chamber stood Professor Chrono, not just a TimeLord but a TimeSage and a LordGuardian of Gallefrey. He was wearing a silvery robetunic and boots with a thick belt and an odd helmet with a triple fin arrangement. He considered the outfit to be rather ridiculous but it was custom and regulations that had him wear such. His appeared to be generally human but his skin was light blue in colour, as were his eyes and he was hairless.

He ran his hands over, just above, a series of disk shaped controls, moving his fingers in odd patterns, even as he studied patterns of 3Ddatasymbols floating in mid air before him. Screens, like non reversed mirrors showing far scenes, showed him the bleak landscape of a claytol toxin ridden part of Koombrasa, the SkyIsland.

TARDIS-Mind spoke to him, seemingly from the air itself. "This is one of the Skylands, the gravity floating landmasses, as built by the AncientOnes on the AlternateEarth of Korra."

The TimeSage nodded as if both to himself and the TARDIS-Mind, or TMind. "Dangerous disturbances in the Multiversal stability fields emanate partly from here. Launch ten thousand microdrones to scout the area of three hundred kilometres out from the TARDIS in all horizontal directions."

TMind: "Launch of microdrones has been successfully instigated."

As powerful and advanced as they were, the TimeLords were painfully aware that they were less advanced, in some ways, than the AncientOnes had been. Long ago the TimeLords had fought a terrible war with the AncientOnes, the war ending in a stalemate. Both the TimeLords and the AncientOnes had been weakened by the war. The TimeLords had then decided to no longer meddle so directly in the 'normal' affairs of the Known Multiverse unless the need was extreme. The AncientOnes had not learned the same, wise, lesson and had rebuilt their strength as a ruthless, exploitative empire only for it all to come to an abrupt end when all of the AncientOnes had vanished, all at once. Or so went the ancient legends.

Professor Chrono, he liked the 'primitive title', observed the poisoned landscape. It was obvious that the superhumans had not become any wiser after they had ceased to be enslaved by the AncientOnes, that they had gone on to make many of the same type of mistakes though with far less impact on the Multiverse, the universality of universes. Sensor sweeps and scanner probes were being made from the TARDIS of the local world and data-feeds were returning from the ten thousand active microdrones moving out from the TARDIS in clever sweep patterns.

A superhuman built structure was soon discovered, a long abandoned, mostly subsurface, dometown with a slightly fractured triple layered dome. Except that the town had long been taken over by claytol toxin caused muties of different kinds and had become a thriving community of their kind. The TimeLord was impressed as he was soon by the finding of a big underground hidden complex and by the discovery of a minehold. What really impressed him was the detection of the fertility sphere with its protective bubble shaped boundary that was both above and below ground. When the microdrones got that far, they penetrated the boundary with some difficulty and then they detected the TransGlobe hovering above the ground close to a mutie village.

TMind: "Warning, the TransGlobe is at least partly active as a powerful device of the AncientOnes."

Professor Chrono smiled for though there was danger in that situation, there was also a good chance to learn more about what was happening in the Multiverse outside of the TimeLords' Home Universe.

MultipleEarth Saga: Seeking Freedom and a New Home

Shazz grinned mildly as the battle raged on the edges of the boundary for matters had taken a strange twist for the better. It turned out that much of the mutie army had been forcefully conscripted by the monstrous Warlord Kavava090 who was a huge humanoid with three great arms, two being smaller left ones. Kavava090 was brutally savage, driven to carry out the attack, as were his fanatical followers and monstrous puppets but the conscripts had no interest in fighting. Despite all of the Warlord's efforts, the muties were deserting the attacking army in droves, were seeking safety in Greenhaven or were fleeing home. Those entering Greenhaven were being tested-transformed and many were joining in the defense of the fertile bubble. Often the deserters brought stolen weapons, supplies and other things with them.

The other good news was that the fertile bubble boundary itself caused a subtle but powerful, and exotic, resistance to the invaders. The more powerfully aggressive the attackers, the greater the resistance and so Kavava090 was unable to enter Greenhaven.

The bad news was that somebody had provided the attacking army with a whole lot of basic useful resources including sealed foodbars, purified water, stimpaks, medX, bolt-action rifles, machineguns, ammunition, basic body-armour, medical serums and even some big clumsy steamcycle machines that used toxic claytol to fuel them. The steamcycle machines were big bulky armoured trucks bristling with guns that were able to move fairly easily across quite rough countryside. Yet the mutie conscripts had been forced to march on foot, often on bare feet, for the armoured trucks were kept for carrying fanatical followers and monstrous puppets of the Warlord along with important equipment and supplies.

When Shazz found a submenu of basic tradegoods that he could get generated, he was at first disappointed for the armour and arms were seemingly medieval in nature. Then he realized they were 'enhanced medieval' in nature. The body-armour was much better than any true medieval stuff, lighter and stronger, being bullet resistant. The quasileather was cheapest and both most flexible and lightest while the plate armour was heaviest and clumsiest but much more resistant to damage. In between was chainmail.

The battleaxes, daggers, flails, battlehammers, lances, maces, shortswords and longswords were relatively light, very strong and hard, well balanced and kept their sharpness well. There were also shortbows and longbows along with arrows and crossbows along with crossbolts. Yet the main weapons of use were a type of boxbow able to fire bowdarts from compact box-magazines and more powerful, but slower to load, springerguns and their springerbolts.

Many tradegoods were being generated by the TransGlobe now, many being transduplicated though a duplicate itself could not be then duplicated. Other items were being manufactured. It became obvious that the TransGlobe could not move from that place for some time for it had become essential to the survival of Greenhaven. For it had become a kind of central base even as the old village was being expanded, improved and otherwise turned into a small city. Mostly this was being done underground.

The muties had become amazingly good at working with few resources and were excellent tunnelers and makers of hidden complexes to hide and shelter in.

When the enemy Warlord abruptly withdrew, with his followers and puppets, it was at first all good news but he ruthlessly slaughtered hundreds of mutie conscripts. As Shazz walked amongst the dead, quite a few resurrected successfully, sometimes changed exotically, but many just staid dead except that their bodies transformed into substances to be used to reinforce the health of Greenhaven.

Shazz was very angry with Warlord Kavava090, swearing that the monster would get real justice of some kind. At least the battle had been won and Greenhaven had been protected.

MultipleEarth Saga: Seeking Freedom and a New Home

Derra and Alice were led along a complex tunnel of concrete that was undergoing various upgrades and repairs as done by a wide variety of roboremotes, none of them with Red Chess Designations. Two RedPawns escorted them both and they both had her wrists bound behind her with metallic handcuffs both very strong and fairly uncomfortable. Then they were entering a large redone chamber that, surprisingly, had some old fashioned technologies in it.

RedQueen spoke from speakers inset into walls but there was a minimainframe, an armoured hardcase, at the far end of the big chamber. Her voice was eager in tone, full of excitement. "The rise of the superhuman controlled civilization of Koombrasa was slowly, as was its technological development. This base complex was created by the Umbrella Network, the smaller and less powerful ancestor of the Umbrella Corporation. It was also more primitive in many ways but managed to gain access to various exotic technologies to work with. What was it doing? It was carrying out a wide range of research and development projects. One was to find out more about the AncientOnes and to try to discover more of their secrets. Why here? Because below us is buried an ancient supercity of the AncientOnes that those amazing entities hid here for some long lost reason; that is as lost as the AncientOnes themselves."

Derra examined the rows of primitive computer banks with their reel-to-reel tapes no longer moving, their banks of lights and large clumsy looking control consoles. "What happened here? Why was this complex abandoned?"

"It was more than abandoned?" The RedQueen responded with even more eagerness. "Something terrible happened and many died while many suffered a fate worse than death. Most survived and fled from the complex. What happened to the survivors is not known to me. At least those survivors. There were transformed survivors. They were experimenting with samples of the U-virus in this place. I have found some evidence that indicates strongly that the AncientOnes created the incredibly exotic, and dangerous, U-virus. The network-systems here were quite crude when compared to those of the UHive. I suspect that the U-virus escaped and created a zombie outbreak. This has been confirmed by the discovery of long dead bodies that fit the condition of not dead humans but dead zombies. That is U-virus zombies. The problem of finding answers in this place is that much of it is in a mess thanks to what seems to be a big battle that took place here along with its long abandonment. The threat should be over."

Alice spoke. "Yes, many zombies were active here, I can 'sense' that this is the case. The threat is not gone. U-virus zombies can go into a form of hibernation that many will not survive in the long term but many will survive to awaken when they 'sense' fresh food, that is fresh prey. There is a chance that your roboremotes have not woken them because, of course, such machines do not 'smell' of good old edible flesh."

After a long pause, the RedQueen spoke more calmly. "I have altered and intensified my explorations of the complex. All dead zombies are being collected to be studied and then destroyed. Some seem to be unnaturally in good condition for zombies. Indications are that you are correct, Alice, that they are in some form of 'undeathly hibernation'. Do you know why some fail with the hibernation?"

Alice shrugged. "No but I do know that the longer the undead hibernation state lasts, the more zombies perish. The survival mechanism is far from perfect. Why did you bring us here?"

The RedQueen sighed long and with some melodrama. "Boredom mostly though I hope to learn something from you. Talking to myself, solving interesting problems, carrying out complex tasks, all these are fine enough but communicating with intelligent outside minds is also interesting. I have been finding libraries of books, of movie reels, of reel-to-reel audio tapes and much else. There are paintings, sculptures and other artworks. There is much of interest. I expected to find all of these but what took me by surprise was the museum of artifacts from other worlds. Still, there are other mysteries here. Look at the walls."

The pair did and saw there rows of displays of odd weapons, flags, banners and other items.

"German Nazis of the Third Reich!" The RedQueen spoke. "They came from an AlternateEarth, were probably brought here by the superhumans, were a very dark political force believing that only they were the 'real humans' of their world. I must admit that my thinking has some inflexibility to its capacities. I would like you to examine what is there. Please me and I will release Tanya, the android, from her forced semiactive captivity. The more you please me, the closer to freedom will your group come to be."

Derra frowned hard. "We do not trust you."

The RedQueen responded. "Neither do I trust you but I will keep my promises. I have to do so for it is in my basic nature."

They still did not trust the RedQueen but they had little option to go along with her and hope for the best. At least they could use the opportunities given them to try to find a way to free the whole group and gain freedom from the hidden underground complex.

MultipleEarth Saga: Seeking Freedom and a New Home

Professor Chrono met with Suzane, his grand-daughter, newly ejected from the TimeAcademy for her outspoken criticisms of growing insular and dogmatic ways amongst the TimeLords. She had come with her grandfather partly out of anger but mostly because she knew that an almost TimeLord did not have much of a future in the TimeCitadel. Sooner or later she would have been forced to leave and to live amongst the non-TimeLord Gallefreyans on Gallefrey if not on one of the Gallefreyan Colony Worlds in the same solar system as Gallefrey was situated. The Gallefreyan Commonwealth Empire was officially tied to TimeLord rule but was, unofficially, independent as long as it kept to the ancient agreement.

Suzane was very attractive and, like the Professor, had given up strange traditional TimeLord gear to wear much more practical survival energy armour that was tight fitting and flexible. Suzane was only just over two hundred years old and had much to learn but she was generally open to learning despite that she could be pig headed at times. Perhaps she had been too open to seeking the truth, according to the TimeAcademy.

Suzane had never been off Gallefrey before, though she had visited both TimeLord Home Zones and Gallefreyan Imperial Zones outside of the TimeCitadel. Now she stood studying the bleak landscape with a mixture of fascination and some horror. She spoke in Ancient Gallefreyan, a language used only by few Gallefreyans in her time, including the TimeLords. "Mother warned me that many other worlds offered only bleakness and primitive backwardness."

Suzane's mother, being the Professor's daughter, was TimeLady Sharae who, like all TimeLadies, were the self proclaimed keepers of High Gallefreyan Culture and Refined Society. Not all TimeLadies were actually women but all wore long silken or metallic-silken robes or robe-tunics except in special circumstances. Sharae, upon hearing of her daughter's ejection from the TimeAcademy, had made it clear that Suzane was no longer welcome to visit her mother's residence in the TimeCitadel. Since Suzane had not actually been there for decades, or had met her mother in person for just as long, this made little impact on the daughter. It was a deep irony that TimeLady Sharae was also, secretly of course, the leader of the TimeLord Opposition Network who were working to change the ways of the TimeLords to what they saw as a more positive one. The TimeLord Opposition Network was banned by the TimeLord High Council about four centuries before using dubious political legal reasons and yet had never been officially or openly challenged in an unofficial fashion.

Chrono smiled. "She would say so openly but would love to be here with us, at this moment. Your mother supported my bringing you with me, along with some of the others."

Yes, others had come with them from Gallefrey but not all had come willingly. The story was a complicated one and extended way beyond the actual escape itself. Professor Chrono had fled to save his life, and the lives of others, from a very secretive and deadly faction that seemed to be taking over the TimeLords. Not easily, though, for a secret struggle was taking place as led by TimeLady Sharae.

Professor Chrono had another reason to coming to that SkyIsland of Koombrasa for somehow it was linked to what was happening in the TimeCitadel. He had come across a fragment of TimeMatrix data that had spoken of a deeply buried, well hidden supercity of the AncientOnes and that somehow it was linked with something called the TimeLord Vay Project. Chrono suspected strongly that the 'TimeLord Vay Project' was the attempt to take over TimeLord Society by a dangerous, secret faction of unknown nature but he had no idea of what 'Vay' actually meant.

Suzane smiled sadly but then visibly focused on other matters. "The microdrones picked up a great deal of evidence of a great energy disturbance centred on a very powerful explosion that took place a long way from here and in the direction of the centre of the this sky floating island. Yet this great land was already slowly dying thanks to the spread of the toxic claytol and its effects on the environment, on the ecosystems. Now there is the strange area, a fertility zone protected by what appears to be an exotic dome shaped barrier that could easily be extending below ground as a complete bubble. You say this has no obvious link with the AncientOnes and their ways but is more like the angelics, the elementals and other such entities."

"The situation is complicated enough with out 'spiritual aliens' being involved." Professor Chrono sighed. "When I was a TimeGuardian I did many tours of duty and special missions through out our Home Universe and beyond to other aspects of the Multiverse. That was before, in their great wisdom, the TimeLord High Council disbanded the TimeGuardians and forbade any more TimeLord timespace excursions even out into our Home Universe unless the TimeLord High Council authorized them."

He gave a mild grin. "I met with a few angelics and though we did not agree on everything, we tended to get on well enough. As for the demonics, we fought a few times and as for the chaotica, the less said, the better. I would like you to remain here in the TARDIS and to continue your TimeAcademy training there. You can still keep aware of what is going on and help to deal with the others that we brought from Gallefrey; TMind will keep in contact with you."

Knowing that she would indeed have a good deal of freedom to do much more than her training, Suzane nodded. "Of course, grandfather, it will be done as you have requested."

01-32 (0032)

MultipleEarth Saga: Seeking Freedom and a New Home

It had been a trick, the main assault on Greenhaven, and it had almost worked. While the brutal mutie Warlord Kavava090 had openly led an army against the boundary of the fertility bubble, the real attack had come underground. Fifty-two superclones, and less powerful metaclones, had come through the ground behind a massive armoured mole-machine. They had struck the fertility barrier and with some difficulty had continued. Then the massive mole-machine had ceased to function. The two superclones, and fifty metacloned monsters, had sought to use a series of tunnels uncovered by the mole-machine. It was then that something huge and powerful had struck them suddenly, by total surprise.

Shazz walked amongst what was left of superclones and metaclone monsters. Many of the metaclones were resurrecting as friendly, powerful allies but many metaclone bodies became converted to useful natural resources. As for the superclones, neither returned to existence but their bodies became of value. Elemental power creatures moved around him, freefolk now who were taking up the offered gift of natural supportive resources, were moving them to where they could be better used.

Samrond, now one of his best advisers, stood there all beautiful and slimly muscular. She was a freefolk metahuman who had a small office in the TransGlobe but who spent a good time and energy out amongst the people. Samrond had done some fighting in the recent battle, using body-armour and guns to do so. "Lord Shazz, I 'sense' no evil here but we are being observed closely."

A mutie adviser, former mutie freefolk that is, spoke up from where he crouched in body-armour. "We call them the Ground Tentacles or the earth-octopuses. They are normally a great threat to us but these are on our side for they were test-transformed. They 'sensed' evil in the superclones and that they were sorry they had to kill all of the metaclone monsters for not all of them were evil, though driven to do evil by the superclones of a twisted superhuman. woman."

Another twisted superhuman to deal with? This was not good news!

Shazz spoke. "Do you know the name of this female twisted superhuman?"

The mutie adviser, one Zazazanta212, shook his head. "Ground Tentacles do not know such things as names but do know female from male. They know the superhuman man named the Old Devil Man in that they 'sensed' him doing evil while he was here at the village. He is more crazed and less powerful than this superhuman woman but she is also 'messy of mentality' and not to be trusted. We have begun calling her the 'Old Devil Woman' for want of a better name."

Shazz nodded, as if to himself more than the others. "It would be good to have their real names. It would be a start to learning just what superhumans we are dealing with." He turned to Samrond. "The TransGlobe quasimentality has informed me that tiny, powerful things called microdrones have been spying on Greenhaven. They are harmless to us but they have explored through out the fertility sphere. They are technologies of a people known as the TimeLords who a very long time ago fought, and almost defeated, the AncientOnes in a terrible war. The AncientOnes became much more careful in whom they waged war on, after that. These TimeLords must indeed have been terrible and evil to threaten even the AncientOnes."

Professor Chrono spoke from where he stood, floating just above the ground as a very clever holographic projection. "Actually it was the AncientOnes who were doing evil. We TimeLords stepped in to stop them from expanding a great monstrous empire that was enslaving thousands of peoples and destroying many fine civilizations with out provocation. As it was, we TimeLords also suffered terribly from the war and after that we ceased to interfere so much in the affairs of others. It is pleasing to know that the AncientOnes became less militaristic due to the war; we TimeLords assumed that they had learned nothing useful from the conflict."

Shazz turned to the holographic projection. "The AncientOnes learned that they had great limitations after all, that they were essentially like all other peoples that they had long assumed that they were naturally superior to. I do not think that they learned wisdom from the war with your people; they seemed to have learned fear and a desire to grow yet more powerful. It is hard to know, hard to gain clear knowledge from the quasimentality of the TransGlobe. Why are you here but not here?"

The Professor smiled diplomatically. "I decided to be cautious in my approach, to introduce myself by distance projection first rather than just plunge into your settlement. There is much that we can talk about in ..."

Abruptly, with out warning, the holographic projection sparkled, fragmented and was gone as if something had blocked the transmission of the image. Shazz did not like the 'feel' of what had just happened, what could be happening to the TimeLord who he had started to like even as they talked with each other.

00-01 (0033)

MultipleEarth Saga: The Greater Story

From a swirling vortex of impossible energies, and states of being, arose an awareness of many superhuman minds blended into one. It was a painful rebirth of superhumans but it did not consist of all superhumans, far from it. The newly created one-of-many-of-one consciousness had many memories to call upon but they were fragmented, blurred and disjointed thanks to missing memories. The vortex of impossible nature swirled inside what remained of the central area of a great supercity that had once, not so long ago, ruled the SkyIsland of Koombrasa. It was the supercity of Centrosaza and though most of the city was intact, it was shattered as a unity now since the central controlling zone was gone. That is literally gone for there was only there a disintegrated sphere shape.

Frightened, but curious, normies and others observed the whirling vortex as best they could from the edges of the disintegrated Centrosaza Core Zone. Most did so from the hopeful safety of fortified towers and complexes, doing so through remote linked cameras. Roboremotes were commonly used from basic drones to big multiple functional devices. There were muties, also, looking up from the hidden, secret Undercity beneath Centrosaza, being an underground supercity that in official terms had never existed. The use of claytol had meant the rise of muties even in some of the cities and in the supercity itself and they had been exiled down into the Undercity to survive as best they could. At least they, unlike the many more muties out in the claytol desolation, had been given a constant stream of basic resources to help them survive. In return the muties had done basic work of surprisingly low demanding labour though the work, like their lives, had a few dangers to it.

Something arose then, to meet them, to greet them, the essence of AncientOnes. They were a cluster of AncientOnes and they made welcome these transformed superhumans. The Light glowed amongst them of supernatural, spiritual illumination, enlightenment and compassion.

The LittleFatMan awoke with a start, sitting up from the strange, mingled intensity of many dreams together in an amazing pattern. Surrounded in the public transit bus by sleepy students, workers and others going home on a rainy afternoon, he took out a small, thick notebook from his city-backpack and started writing notes. He also started doing small, amazingly accurate sketches with a pencil. The LittleFatMan was amazing at accurately sketching things from memory in a very short time. He sold his sketches at a local market, doing quick facial portraits of customers, but so far had no real ambitions to do more than that, with his talents, on a commercial basis. Instead he was content to stay on his surprisingly generous special pension and to spend most of his time home in his very special apartment tower.

The moods of the LittleFatMan would fluctuate wildly for he was diagnosed with the mental illness of bipolar. This was despite his use of new prototype medications, being tested on him by a powerful but obscure transnational corporation, known as the Maharg Corporation. Before he had been on medications as produced by the much better known, but infamous, Progress Unlimited Corporation; they had been good except for some strange and disturbing minor side effects. It was such side effects, from the use of a wide range of experimental PUC medications, that was causing such infamy for the huge transnational corporation.

The dreams seemed to be of some strange story taking place on at least two different AlternateEarths, what ever they were. The stories seemed to be related to certain favourite mass media products he had grown up with, be they television shows and-or movies and-or games and-or others. There was Resident Evil and Doctor Who so far and an obscure cult movie known as Twilight Worlds where the angelics, demonics and chaotica were mentioned. There were some changes though, as if the versions of these in his dreams were not quite the same as the versions of stories in his 'real life'.

'Real life'? Sometimes the LittleFatMan had doubts about the 'reality' of his 'real life'. He had made the mistake of expressing such doubts to a therapist once, and to some others, but he would never do that again as the main response had been that he focus on 'reality' and perhaps consider having an increase in his medication.

The bus stopped close to where the great big, low hulking ugly-attractive bulk of the Maharg Tower apartment block was. He stepped off the vehicle and wrapped his yellow raincoat around himself more firmly against the growing strength of the wind and coming rain. Oddly enough he did not remember having put a raincoat on or owning such but he put this down to his illness and, with no real concern, went into the Maharg Tower. As was normal his animal companions were waiting happily to meet him at his large, sprawling apartment.

MultipleEarth Saga: Seeking Freedom and a New Home

Derra was in what had become known as the Nazi Gallery Hall that was part library, part museum, part art gallery and part other things. She was still eager to free herself, and the others, to return to being with Shazz. As it was when she had attempted to empath-telepath with him again, she had found the attempt blocked by a dark, powerful but subtle force. Nor had the 'voice' spoken in her mind since that moment. She missed both forms of communications and felt even more isolated because of their absence.

Derra carefully placed the ziplasmagun back onto the metal table she had picked it up from. It was a long, fairly awkward weapon to use and was marked with the same DarkWolf symbol that other such exotic technologies were. That is as designed and made by the strange Nazis who had come from an odd AlternateEarth. In a place, and below it, called Castle Wolfenstein, these German Nazis, along with other national Nazis and some strange, secretive allies, had been carrying out a large number of research and development projects. One was the careful examining of an 'alien flying-saucer', a monstrous grey vessel of disturbing nature. The Nazis, and their allies, had back-engineered ziplasmaguns and other technologies from the flying-saucer. Others, who were called the PureOnes, worked on this and assisted human scientists in other ways. Thus arose the Wolfdoom Projects.

Derra spoke out to mid air. "You say that you have only managed to access a relatively small part of the complex and have gathered up only a very limited amount of reliable data about this place and what happened here."

The RedQueen sound a little petulant as she responded. "One's resources are very limited while one's tasks are many. The RedKing is being sulky because he thinks too much demand is being made on his substructure network-systems even as they are yet to be fully installed in this place, let alone to be tested and adjusted to the local environment."

While the RedQueen was the dynamic 'ruler', the RedKing ran the basic service-support network-systems and much else that was practical about the whole network of network-systems that was the RedChessNetwork.

Derra frowned. "There is something about this weapon that I do not like."

The RedQueen responded with new eagerness to show off her intelligence and knowledge. "The use of it will influence any human, or other such mortal entity, operating it and will slowly, steadily transform them into something unnatural and nasty. The longer any use is, in one period, the greater the effect. If there is a break in the use of any such weapon, then the effect fades. This effect is far greater with the ziplasmicannons, which are far more powerful, though bigger and even more awkward to use, than are the standard ziplasmiguns also know as ziplasmarifles. The ziplasmiguns have devastating effect on targets but are relatively short ranged, take precious time to recharge between shots and can be dangerous to use for the operator; that is dangerous to use in other ways than the one I have already spoken of. The Wolfdoom Nazis, which is what I call them, in the end had their Stormtroopers use ziplasmiguns only when wearing special body-armour that protected them from toxic side effects, or other harm, in various ways. This body-armour was also very bullet resistant and useful in others ways such as against nerve gas or choking smoke or even fire. The problem, for the Wolfdoom Nazis, was that both ziplasmaguns, and the special body-armour, were hard to manufacture and were costly in terms of vital resources. Which is why the majority of soldiers at Castle Wolfenstein were armed with more conventional weapons and had only basic body-armour."

Alice had found some hand-carts and appeared pulling a hand-cart full of neatly stacked leather bound volumes, large books that appeared to be rather fancy journals of some kind. "Professor Frankenstein, Professor Moroe, Professor Rani, Professor Jeckle, Professor Moriarty, Professor Elanus and others, all of them were super geniuses with twisted personalities. All of them could play at being god, could meddle with nature as they wished and could do what they liked with experimental victims. Frankenstein created reanimated monsters from corpses. Moroe created animal-humans. Jeckle used a strange serum to turn humans, or animals, into berserker monsters with enhanced strength, endurance and other physical abilities. Rani worked with created a form of timespacecraft that could jump forward in time only and teleport a few kilometres few space but which could also travel the Alternates. Moriarty worked on amazingly complicated and advanced mathematical equations, by the standards of those people, but for what reason is unclear. Others are only briefly mentioned in these manuals. All were involved in the study of the alien flying-saucer and the back-engineering of technologies from the alien stuff."

The RedQueen spoke. "Much of this I know already but you have filled in some important gaps in my knowledge and perhaps you have explained how these Wolfdoom people got to this SkyIsland from there own AlternateEarth; they used the timespacecraft as designed by Professor Rani."

Except it was conjecture and they all knew it. The problem with the journals was that they referred constantly to various briefings, journals and other texts including complete project records. They also referred to various meetings and 'discussions'. Thus there were many gaps in the information and what was there could easily be misleading.

There was much work to do!

MultipleEarth Saga: Seeking Freedom and a New Home

Professor Chrono was angry but was coolly so. The TARDIS was enwrapped in enemy locking fields so that neither he, or any others, could leave the TARDIS; or so was the theory. The entrapment forces were being generated by super technologies of the AncientOnes but they were not being controlled smoothly or being utilized fully; the TimeLord soon figured that the ancient mechanism was being used by one or more superhumans. They had the limited ability to access and use ancient artifacts of the AncientOnes but they were clumsy and over confident in the way they did so.

With him, in the Central Control Chamber, was a TimeLordling named Jamjimin. TimeLordites were either apprentice TimeLords who had entered the final phase of TimeAcademy training-education, were those who would never become TimeLords due to failed earlier or were those from outside of the TimeCitadel who gained special training and learning. The latter were often 'aliens' or were from the Gallefreyan Empire. Jamjimin was an 'alien', was a blue humanoid with three double jointed legs and three double jointed arms while his orb shaped head was on top of a double jointed arm like neck. Jamjimin belonged to a generally progressive and peaceful species known as the ratriperia or ratriperians.

Jamjimin had only come reluctantly with the Professor because the TimeLord High Council was being influenced to ban all future 'aliens' being trained as TimeLordltes and there were too many dark whispers of secret plans to kill 'alien' TimeLordites because they 'knew too much' about TimeLord secrets. The reasoning was nonsense for TimeLordites never learned anything of such a nature and even fully graduated TimeLords had to go for centuries before such 'secrets' were accessible to them. Alien TimeLordites never became TimeLords but neither did most TimeFolk of the TimeCitadel. The majority of TimeLordites remained as TimeLordites. This was no shame, was not considered in any way a failure, for the TimeLords needed the service-support of the relatively many more TimeLordites.

Professor Chrono had thus brought with him over a hundred 'alien' TimeLordites in order to protect them and to continue their training-education in the TARDIS just as he was continuing the training-education of Suzane who was not even officially a TimeLordite but was a 'rogue'. Professor Chrono had once spent a couple of centuries as a 'rogue' and had only sympathy for his granddaughter.

Jamjimin was examining floating datasymbols in their ever changing patterns. He used all three eye-stalks to do so. He spoke with an exotic thrumming undertone to what would sound like, to human ears, a feminine voice. "We do understand why you abducted many TimeLordites, as you did with the assistance of unknown others, but they are not happy with what has happened though some are less happy than others."

"Understandably so but their lives were in danger." The Professor responded even as he did yet another scanning probe on the force fields enwrapping the TARDIS. "TimeLord custom, protocols and law took precedence over their feelings. More alien TimeLordites came willingly than were abducted. I have found a possible weakness in the enemy capture fields."

Jamjimin changed the focus of his attentions and sounded excited now. "Yes, I think that I also see it now. You are truly brilliant, Professor Chrono."

The TimeLord spoke. "Yes, the weakness is there but for now we must convince the ones behind this entrapment that their efforts are working fully. You chose not to go to your home worlds when you could have done; why is this?"

"Because I wish to complete my training-education as a TimeLordite for the good of my people and myself." The three time three limbed creature responded thoughtfully. "As you know our home worlds are part of the LifeProclomation, as we are of course, and the LifeProclomation faces threats that can be at least partly met with TimeLordite knowledge and skills. We were greatly surprised, and disappointed, that the TimeLord High Council refused to go to the aid of the LifeProclomation."

"So were many of we TimeLords." Chrono frowned softly. "As it is the TimeLord High Council is facing a high level review of of their past actions, of the last three centuries, as driven by the three TimeLord High Judges and the TimeChancellor herself."

"There is a secret struggle going on amongst the TimeLords." The alien sounded disappointed. "We have come to expect more from the TimeLords than these squabbles."

"These are no 'squabbles' but a secret invasion, a secret war." Chrono responded. "Involving many levels of manipulation, treachery and deception."

The triped looked unhappy about this idea, if one knew how to read the physical emotional expressions of his people.
