CTD after few seconds of playing (10-15 seconds)

Hi, i'm getting a CTD after playing for about 15 secs, and I can't find the problem. The game starts normally, I open a new save, create my character and then crashes after few seconds. I'm playing a modded Skyrim Special Edition.

 

PC components:

1. Intel I7-7600
2. Nvidia GTX 970 EVGA Fallout 4 Edition
3. 16GB RAM

The game is installed in a 2TB disc, which has enough free space. I already tried LOOT to see if the problem was the plugin sorting, but it didn't affect.

okay not saying this the cause, but I had this happening to me and it turned out it was a bad download of the Unofficial patch, I tried it from both Nexus and Beth, I ended up having to download it from the AFK site and that fixed it for me. Also install manually.

Is this suggestion based on the information supplied by the thread starter? Because there are thousands of reason why the game would crash, and it might be counter-productive if you simply throw in one thing that caused YOUR game to crash at one point in time. If we all do that then this thread would be filled with thousands of solutions, essentially became a collection of every thing that has ever caused Skyrim to crash.

First of all, I recommend you go through the usual steps ensuring mods working properly. Besides LOOT, do you know how to make merged and bashed patch?

 

Then, here is a theory that will need some testing on your end. If the game crashes regularly at the same spot, check if this happens when certain NPC is about to speak certain lines. If it is, then you need to find out which mod has modified that NPC with SSEEdit. Remove the record change made on that NPC (or even better, simply uninstall that mod) and see if that solves your problem.

 

Finally, do you have any oldrim mods installed? This includes texture mods as well.

downloadng and installing the patch manually will take less time than disabling one mod after another, if it doesn't solve the problem then start disabling groups of five mods at a time and see if that works.

I found what the problem was. The quest mod Rigmor Of Bruma was the problem, i deactivated it and the game work well. It's the second time this happens to me, and that mod was also the problem the first time. Thank you all for the help

I know this is quite an old post but I had this same issue -- started a new game, new character and all that and within about 10-15 sec = CTD. Even when I loaded the game save for that new character, CTD within 1-15 sec. Upon reading this, I too had the Rigmor of Bruma mod installed -- uninstalled it = no more CTD was able to play on a new character.

 

I will say though, I don't think I had the Rigmor/Bruma patch (and I have the Bruma mod installed) installed so I can't say that if that patch was installed with the main quest mod there wouldn't be a CTD.

The reason you are crashing is because you are starting the game with both Rigmor of Bruma and Immersive Armors.

You need to start the game without Rigmor activated. Then when you get the message that Immersive Armors has finished configuring save the game and exit. Activate Rigmor of Bruma and load up your game.

You seem to have both vivid weathers and climates of Tamriel. You donât need both and your game will probably look weird with both

hI new to thread and really newbie with the modding junk i have a lv 40 something ive been playing for weeks barely and problems then suddenly i cant go 10 sec without CTD, i checked all the mods to make sure they are updated. i dont know how to easily provide my load order.
