DragonBorn5185
You will have to excuse the frustration. But, I am beyond annoyed with the bugs in this game. As one player stated, the only reason I am still playing and put up with Bethesda's buggy crap is the mods. And this random player stopping did not start until the update to the Creation Flubb( and no I did not misspell that). Any one have this problem, anyone no how to fix it? And, you Bethesda, why don't you look into some of this crap instead of leaving us out to fend for ourselves. I never, ever encountered a 1/3 of the bugs in Skyrim. Any way, anyone know of how to stop this Random Player Stopping. I have searched the net and have found nothing yet. Thanks for any help.
JimmyRJump
No use having a rant at Bethesda here, since you're on the Nexus ;) I myself stopped playing in May after having gone nuts with the game non-stop from the day I bought it back in November 2015, garnering around twelve-thousand hours of gamplay with (almost) every mod I could find on here. Now, what exactly happens in your game and at what version are you at? Are you talking about a random player stopping or a random stopping of your character? And how, where, under which circumstances does this happen? Are you playing with or without mods? Does it happen with and without mods?
DragonBorn5185
Sorry about not giving more details, I don't post that much. I do have mods, 94 to be exact. It isn't in the mods since it has been doing it since I started a new game with no mods. I don't have to be doing anything particularly, but it seems to happen more often in settlements. I will be walking along and my character will just stop even while holding down the the move key. I can look around, but just not move. Eventually, hitting the jump key and all direction keys my character will move. And like I stated, it didn't start doing this until the update that gave us the Creation Club. The only plus I give that update is the improvement on the graphics. Also, something I have been contemplating is that maybe I need more memory. I have 12gig, but is seems like the more mods(especially the larger ones) the more graphic intensive this game is. What is your thoughts on this? SharraShimada
That kind of bug is well known... Its caused by some animation stuck in the process. And no, it wont have to be the walking animation. It also can happen, if you draw a weapon, or something else. First thing would be to let STEAM verify your game files. If everything seems to be in order, then its time to narrow down the faulty animation. Close observation what your char is doing at the moment it freezes. And then look for a solution, or a mod that replaces that animation. Big question about your mods:You use Nexus Mod Manager i presume? If so, do you actually uninstalled the mods? Or just deativated them? If the latter, animations and such are still in the FO4 folder, and will be recognized by the game. If so, please uninstall them the right way, and try again. Even an "inactive" mod can cause this problems. For example, one time, i had a weapon, that caused serious animation stutter. Removed the weapon, everyhing´s smooth. JimmyRJump
I had a similar issue years ago in another game where for some reason the game no longer responded to the input from my keyboard. Mods like Hotkeys or batch files that require key combinations to get activated can also cause this when there's conflicts somewhere or when you hit some key combination of which you are unaware that it triggers something or other. speedynl
i have played this game for a long time, but never had the problems you seems to have, but then again i only used 1 scrap mod, and stuff i made myselfits prolly 1- ? mods that cause your problem best way to check this, delete everything, and i mean everything every folder that belong to the gameinstall a clean version, no mods see wat happens, add your mods 1 by 1 back, till you find the 1 that seems to cause this and yes the game have bugs it well know to all, but like i stated i never had this bug/problem
JimmyRJump
best way to check this, delete everything, and i mean everything every folder that belong to the gameAnd that includes the folder C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Fallout4. Copy the DLC list from that folder first, to know which mods you had installed, if you don't have another list already... The AppData folder is set to hidden by the OS by default, mind.
