"Essential mods"

Hello,

I got the urge to play FO4 again and that means I also must install mods. Once you go mods, you never go back. ;)

Which ones are the "essential" mods that should be the core of every modded FO4?

I don't mean graphical improvements, game play changes and such, I rather mean bug fixes, script extenders, CTD-fixes/stability stuff.

Thanks in advance!

""game play changes and such, I rather mean bug fixes, script extenders, CTD-fixes/stability stuff.""" ....

.... There are no mods that will avoid or fix CTD ... there are no "essentials" mods except whatever is essential to you and nobody can tell you what to do with your game or play style. Bug fixes are some, for example the Unofficial Patch and others but none of them will avoid or fix any CTD at all.

Based on your play style, go to the mod pages and download whatever you think will help you to play your game the way you intended to. What is essential to me, may not be essential to you.

BitRaitBec did an outstanding job with their guide here providing links to other mods. It includes texture mods and stuff that actually increase performance or you can skip all that can get the core ones on the list that significantly improve gameplay.

Thanks, that is a good list to use!

Unofficial Fallout patch is the only base necessity, together with the Cryo Fix.

Then of course you have the Fo4 Script Extender, Mod Menu also does some stuff, and depending on what you would call "fixes", look at Overhauls.

Need to check the Cryo-fix, F4SE, MCM I already got. Been checking the overhauls section as well.
