Thanks , I upgraded almoust all walls with the style , so are almoust finished ,soon I can replace old walls of Issgard wuth the new ones and eventually take a larger screenshot.

Apart that I am still undecided if use or not a grate fromthe entrance or instead large doors... The gate has some variances according to the city type.

I also planned one type with a draw bridge.

I'm very excited for this mod. Though some have found it to be boring, I've always been fascinated with the ancient nordic/atmoran culture from the Ysgramor to the Dragon Cult - Hence I'm almost always on the lookout for armor/weapons bearing to those styles for my nord warrior. So when I see that this mod is introduce a healthy amount of that culture including an opportunity to explore Atmora, well I can't help but get giddy.

 

If you're open to suggestions: One thing that would fit perfectly with the theme of this mod would be armor and weapon sets of the Ancient Nord/Draugr style (Draugr spectacle helmet, deathlord helmet, ect.) with varying smithing materials (Ebony, Steel, Stalhrim, ect.) though judging by the mods you've made so far, I have no doubt we'll receive a healthy amount of nordic goodies. Can't wait to see what you have in store next.

There are an amount of new armors and weapons some made by me and some by Gechbal , the font of inspiration was obviously the norse / fantasy style and some of high medieval norman ones , there will also be an advanced form of new ice weapons , more rough similar to Game of Thrones concepts .

 

 

Why not use each type in the different holds cities or towns if they have walls or some type of cave you have to pass through to enter the town.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. What I ment was concerning the different gates, you mentioned you had several ideas for gates...am I correct? Or did read that wrong. I was just saying that why don't you use a different gate or drawbridge, or doors or whatever in each of the holds on Issgard. For example you could have a drawbridge over a moat that leads to large metal or wood carved doors that open to the city.

The different type of gates are actually two , one with drawbridge and one with Large portal , those are planned to be intermixed with other tileable pieces to offer more variance, and I planned a slight change in the sculpt of the gate that could or not be noticeable ot the carefull traveller.

 

So in practice I planned 3 drawbridges for the 3 main cities and 3 gates that will altern either grate or a large door . the base will be the same , but the mix matching and eventually one or two textures will be different to offer a recognizeable different shape without much work .

 

Just for Varheim I planned 3 access points .

 

1 is the main shivering bridge entrance to the Palace

1 is the main City entrance with Gate seen above

1 is a drawbridge that cnnects to the cliffside hill toward north .( this one not sure yet if combine with a bridge half built to connect on a tower .

Hello those pics are directly taken from inside the CK , so unmodified by any atmosphere .

You can more or less see the several pieces of tilesets i been working on the latest weeks, and how they nicely ( hopefully ) join all together and allow for modular building .

Now I am completing the walls tilesets needed , like some ramps , some corners, and the building modules that allow for inworld buidling constrictions and as well as prefabricated fully functional homes .

This is also how I was brainstorming assembling the Capital main access street and the details of the new Gate stones.

tell me what u think of the general layout .

I willhave to find a good blend between belieavability and to mix the old with the new so that it can show of how the citizens built over the old architectures that are mostly basic ruins ... kind of like how medieval inhabitants of Rome built over rome itself .

Obviously those are very wip , I stillplan to add later a layer of some moss eventually on some walls as well as the cluttering details all around , like lights, barrels , signs etc ...
Eventually I will rise the bordersides of the street and stilldeciding on the type of ground textures of the ramps .
