Spawns of the Commonwealth (WOTC 2 New Thread)

From what I remember, my exact settings should have been increased Super Mutants, increased Raiders, and I don't think I did anything else. I didn't make it a war, but I wanted a 'behind enemy lines' feel. So there were extra spawns, and probably spawns in extra places. And I spawned 5 NPCs through WOTC and recruited them to follow me forever. WOTC, I mean the extra spawns, were OK. But as I kept the NPC's, it lagged to get into Power Armor, Pipboy didn't want to come up, WOTC settings took literal minutes to come up after hitting the button. After I deleted the recruits, the game started to come back, but not entirely. I know people talk about massive mod orders, but I never usually had more than 50 because back then I didn't have the gaming pc I did now, and I had to watch my ram usage.

Sounds like the game was under stress, maybe it could have been Papyrus on a lock/kept getting in a lock. No way to know without looking into the original setup.

While I can't say if this would happen again using WOTC now, i would recommend against recruiting random npcs at all, there is much that can go badly. I will look at making something to spawn generic npcs (such as a workshop item) for this purpose.

just wondering what the state of this mod is at atm, alpha, beta, playable, buggy, needs testing, etc,etc loved the original mod and would love to support you guys however i can.

Status is Alpha, lacking content but completely stable. However, update I am working on won't be backwards compatible (working on making the core mod more moddable). Testing and feedback is always important regardless.

Join Discord (see my sig) to follow more closely. I often neglect the nexus :)

Hey again, I might be joining the discord soon and testing this mod out when/if I get a chance. Do you think it'd be hard/time consuming to make a mod for recruiting NPCs? I have no issue with the named NPCs ingame, but I like having a squad of NPCs that may or may not die during combat.

Very much more anxiously awaiting at least a semi-functioning, stable release. Narrowed down a group of CTDs to WotC and had to disable it. Gameplay is much more dull without. It's not really survival if I'm not having to actually try and live through a hellstorm of bullets, lasers, and the chance for a behemoth to play golf with my corpse.

*edit* turned everything way down and that seems to have helped, hope it holds in the meantime.

Thanks for the kind words and patience folks. I have recently had a bit of a hiatus and am returning to work on it.

@DrkSwtHrt - RE recruitment, this is not something I had actually thought about, but I will look into it eventually. I have a few ideas in mind to make this safe but not guaranteeing I'll put much effort into it.
