CTD on fast travel after completing Companions quest

I've tested this twice now. At first I thought it was a problem with my mods but now i'm not so sure. The first time this happened, I played through The Companions quest and after completing it and leaving Ysgramor I couldn't fast travel anywhere but Riverwood without a CTD. I ended up just loading an earlier save that happened to be before eliminating the silver hands. I played through again and finished, and when I tried to exit the Ysgramor temple this time I CTD right away! I've tried it a few times and I cant leave the temple at all without CTD. I suppose I can just not complete the quest and move on but if there is a fix I'd love to know it.

 

Edit: I loaded a save from right after I entered Ysgramor temple and tried to turn around and leave and CTD'd. Loaded a previous save again and everything was fine.

Well, it could be anything, really. Maybe even just a bug in the game. But also as likely a mod conflict somewhere or even a load order issue.

 

Do you by any chance use LOOT to sort load order? If you don't, try it and see what gives.

KS Hairdo is normally sitting way higher. I don't use AzarHair but in my load order (184 plug-ins/273 mods) KS Hairdo is sitting at number 15 (16th in load order as the numbering starts at zero).

 

Make sure you have the latest version of LOOT to keep the up-to-date with the MasterList. The latter is the list LOOT uses to make out priorities of installed mods and working mods are added on a regular basis to keep the sorting tidy.

 

Question: do you by any chance use mods made for the non special edition of Skyrim? I mean mods with a plug-in (esp or esm). Texture mods without a plug-in can be used in both versions but mods with a plug-in (textures AND meshes) -while not harmful in the short term- can cause things to go pear-shaped after a while because of the difference in file form both editions use (43 for Oldrim; 44 for SSE).

I dont think I have any other mods with a plugin. That list is everything I have. Also, I re-loaded my order on Loot but it only moved the KS Hairstyles up one slot, right above alternate start. I'm very new to mods, i've only been playing the PC version of Skyrim for about a month. I really appreciate you trying to help me out! I'm sure I will figure this out eventually.
