Johnny2307
Hi to all, I made a mistake by eating a chokeberry from the official Vile Lair add-on. It added the active effect 'damage health' and the ability 'poison chokeberry effect (10)' to my Oblivion character. The problem is that this damage health effect keeps active even if the effect timer of 999 runs out, it just keeps draining my characters health until I die. I do have some save games backups off course, but I do have some nice random loot I want to keep, so if anyone has a solution to remove this effect it would be nice. I looked on the internet and did find a console command on the site of Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages to remove the effect of the poison apple, however this console command does not seem to work for the chokeberry. So, does anyone know how to remove this effect/ability? Thanks in advance! Johnny P.S. I'm Dutch and English is not my native language, so if anything is unclear you can just ask me. Apologies for any grammar/spelling mistakes
Sarya
Well, it's not treated as poison, so cure poison won't work I guess. I don't see a FormID in CS, unfortunately. No, I guess I found something. Try player.removespell 01009BFF . If this doesn't work then I have no idea.

Apologies for any grammar/spelling mistakes :unsure:The problem here is than Chockeberry is introduced by the DLCVileLair official plugin and have the ID "xx009BFE" the itemthis mean you can try player.removespell as is done to poison apple... but you need one thing more. you need to know the position of that plugin in the load order. One way to know this is opening Wries batch and search for the Vile lair, so look at the column named load order and note the hexadecimal number showed there. if it is, says... 2F you can try this console command:"player.removespell 2F009BFF" without the quotes (the spell effect) - be aware that two first digits are dependent of your load order and you can use this to know the ingame ID of any item you find in the CS. Needing only change the two first digits by whatever position the item's mod is placed in the load order.
Sarya
nosisab, does the initial FormID of the item have anything in common with FormID of a particular copy of it present in the game? I mean maybe he can learn those first two numbers by taking another piece of chokeberry, dropping it on the floor and clicking on it with active console? Wryebash maybe hard... Wryebash maybe hard...Yes, for the item it is the same but that index (but not for the references) explaining better. says xyzSword have a mod index ID 01002347 shown in CS (01 means it is the mod loaded in the CS after Oblivion.esm that is 00). but this item can have a 'instance' in the game... says one instance of it placed in a container where it can receive a specific ID to imply "that one item" even when may be more than one of then (this instance ID is the one give to the item in the 'render' window, and indeed we give a name, like xyzsowrd1). The engine gives an instance ID to items whenever one instance of it get in play, so it is found to have ids like ff123943 ... When we are adding or removing such items to player or whatever container we reference the 'father' object ... the one with the ID shown in the "object window" in the CS appended the position index and don't need to care the ID the engine will give to this specific object instance. Example: this xyzSword that appears in the CS as 01002347 is from a mod loaded at position 3b, so we add it to player in console with Player.additem 3b002347 1 I don't know if I made this clear, my English betray me sometimes. PS: Since these command types don't care for copies (and so don't care for the actual ingame instance ID) we need supply the quantity and can't chose what one to removePS 2: you just need open Wrye bash and look for the number in the load order column.any way you get this number is valid. you can count all 'selected' ESMs and ESPs until and including that mod. and converting the decimal number found in the Windows calculator in scientific mode (remember Oblivion is 00 so don't count it)
Johnny2307
I tried installing Wrye Bash, but I couldn't get it to run. So I got the form id from OBMM, for me this was 14. Then I typt into the console: player.removespell 14009BFF, and the effect was removed  Now I can keep my random loot, and my increased skill in restoration! Thanks for all your help :thanks: Johnny
Sarya
Well, yes, OBMM is much easier to install. Should have known.
oblivimag979
Just had the same problem with chokeberry. Went to Deepscorn hollow, go to garden area (poisonous plants), open console, click on chokeberry vine, gave me my load order to use with form ID "chokeberry vine" 070060aa player.removespell 07009bff saved me from losing 10+ hours of gameplay. Ferryt
And the moral of this story is ... Don't eat alchemical ingredients. Make potions with them. Eating things at random can be hazardous to your health. Seriously, though, the effects of an ingredient, when it's incorporated into a potion is very likely to be greater than if you just eat it, anyway. Anyone can do alchemy and it's one of the easiest ways in this game to make money, so there's really no reason to ever eat an ingredient -- unless you have a survival mod installed that requires you to eat, in which case it's probably best to avoid eating things with names like "chokeberry". :)
