My windows reinstall nightmare

Long story short, I screwed up (obviously, I wouldn’t be here otherwise)

Recently I’d been having some unrelated issues with windows and my graphics driver, after almost a year of frustration, anger, tears and several glasses of wine, I summitted to defeat and had to reinstall windows.

Unfortunately, a new problem has risen from my drunken decision as I neglected to properly archive my mod folders (skyrim and fallout). Once I reinstalled NMM, I found that the plugins work fine but the mod folder itself is empty, which isn’t usually a problem as I have a backup file with all my mods in it. But even when I place these files directly in NMM folder I still get nothing in the mod manager. Although if I compress one of mod files and then place it in the folder, then they show up, but the ingame results of this can be rather unpredictable.

So, I come to you seeking your wisdom, please help me if you can.

Now, if you don’t mind, I have exams to study for and more wine to drink.

âhave pleasant evening.

While you're off studying, we also get nightmares over the hows and whys of your situation. Meaning, in order to not make us perform an elaborate voodoo-ritual, please tell us what OS you're using and which/how many hard drives are involved in this and if there's several, have they kept their names/letters, re-installed what, how and where, etc...

For the sake of my goldfish, who's been living very comfortably in my crystal ball, give as much details as you can about what happened.

She got Windows 10, Running on a solid stat drive (C:) plus 2 Hard drives (D: and G:) for extra storage. their names haven't changed (though i have nick named them, Paul, Ringo and George respectively).

Nexus itself is in the C Drive, my mods are stored in the D (Skyrim) and G (fallout). Any time i Reinstall nexus i make sure to use the same storage files. the NMM files themselves are a mess to honest, i have overwrite files in virtualfiles, i have multiple copies of mods setting in loose folders. its like the back allies of New York in there.

also the manager tries to "move" my back up files to NMM but it doesnt seem to be work as it just keeps grinding.

Thank you for the reply, Hope your gold fish is doing awesome.
