ThatKidWhoDoesStuff
I recently acquired a very nice microphone (Audio Technica AT2020) and I have too much time on my hands, and I was thinking maybe I could do my own version of the player's voice. This would help me practice my voice acting work, and I don't think it's been done before. It's certainly quite the undertaking, and I know that I don't have the deepest voice or even close to the best-sounding, but it seems like it might be fun. Would anybody be interested in a mod like this? Or, also possibly, be interested in helping me implement the voice lines into the game?
Crosstieger
Sure would be interesting to see the different it would make.

Yulliah
You want to record about 4 hours of voice samplesThen you want to give them the exact same number they have originally and put them in the right folderThen you want to create lip files for all of them...Dude, I like the idea and all, but I think you're massively underestimating the amount of work this will cost! You're talking about opening every single quest in the creation kit, and creating lip files for every single line said...Apart from re-recording hundreds of lines...I would really rather create something new for people to enjoy, than spend insane amounts of time to fix something that isn't nessicarily broken... That's one of the reasons I would want someone to help implement the files into the game, but if not, I might still do it by my lonesome. On another point, part of why I do want to do this is a more personal reason, to practice my voice acting and put myself out there a little bit.The third point is if there really isn't that many people that want this, or even care about it, (which is very possible and I'm aware of it,) then I might not. But if it is something even a few people want to see, I'll probably do it.And on the other hand, if there's something else that I can do where I can really do a lot of voice work, I'd love to know about it. I've already done work for The Hype Is Real Part II and The Secret of Huntress Manor, and I'm signed on for Tales of New Reno Redux II, but if there's anything you or anybody might know of that involves a lot of voice work please let me know! But trust me, that's the easy part ;) It's as easy as opening the dialogue and selecting the different wav file.

I sure hope it's that easy, according to Yulliah it's a little harder than that.I still have to lip sync it up, right?
Thuggysmurf
@ThatKidWhoDoesStuff: What you're proposing is a massive project (14k voice lines), but not as daunting as some are making it out to be, IF you use these 2 tools: 1) Lazy Voice Finder. This will help you easily find all the player voice files and re-record them with the proper tone/inflection needed:https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/24309/? 2) Lip Sync File Generator: This will generate lip files in a small fraction of the normal time without needing to open Creation Kit manually (the more files you need lipped, the more time it saves):https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20728/? And you also need Unfuzer to combine the .wav and .lip files into a .fuz file:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9797/? Then name each voice file EXACTLY the same as the original vanilla version or else it won't pull the right file in game. A major challenge with this project is multi-line dialogue, e.g. the player says something like: Line 1: I found the schematics you were looking for.Line 2: Here you go. You'd have to get the silence spacing at the end of line 1 and the beginning of line 2 to match up exactly the same as vanilla, or else it won't sound quite right in game. Not sure how many others feel the same, but personally, I'd play a Fallout 4 male character if it had a different voice than vanilla. The female player voice actress for Fallout 4 is amazing but the male was so-so IMHO (always sounds like he's tired). If you're just looking to practice voice acting and want a smaller project to start, send me a PM with a voice sample. I make quest mods (e.g. Fusion City Rising, Outcasts & Remnants) and can probably find a role for you.

Hearing the term "massive project" gives me the right kind of chills, if that makes sense at all.P.S. Is that silence why in some radio broadcasts and holotapes there's an awkward silence?P.P.S. I'll hit you up on that offer, I've yet to play you're mods but they're in my NMM waiting to be played on my current playthrough, and seem really well done and professional.
