Samuai68
SO i have just signed up, and decided to have a look at the mods (after playing the game for year) and so i installed the NMM to download. However when it was looking ( and i set the path as my folders are on the D drive) it said it can't find the EXE. Then i though i could set it later so i carried on, next it said it can't find INI files even though there there? Can someone please give some advice, Thanks. JimmyRJump
The ini files NMM needs are in Documents/My Games/ Skyrim Special Edition and are generated after the game has been launched once. If NMM doesn't see them, then change the original ini files names by adding an underscore somewhere, then launch the game and close it again (you'll have to swim through the initial cart ride until you get off to build you character. Alt-Tab out of the game because there's an Autosave at that point that you can reload later if you want). In order for NMM to know which games you have, you need to let NMM do a scan. Open NMM and click the small black down-pointing arrow to the right of the blue circular arrow top right of the NMM interface. There you can choose to swap between games (when NMM has already found your games) and also perform a new scan. Let NMM do the scan. In the scan window, NMM will show a green tick next to the games it has found. Click OK when you agree this is correct. Next, in NMM you need to hit the cogwheel top left in the interface. In the menu that opens, you have to select the Skyrim Special Edition tab. In that tab, you need to set the paths to where NMM stores the mods and the third option from the top is to select the directory that has the game's exe file. Select the square with the dots to the right of the text box of Skyrim Special Edition directory* to browse to where your SSE is installed. Simply click the install directory (DO NOT go into the directory), then click OK and now NMM knows where to look.
