Best guides for a starting modder

Hey guys, gals and (you thought I'd say legionnaires didn't you?) you. :)

 

I've been a mod user for many, many years and I'd like to actually start learning more about the process of making mods. The areas I'm interested in are:

 

• Settlement buildings. Specifically things to tie in to Horizon's Architect system
• Making compatibility mods. Again, specifically to make stuff work well with Horizon.

I realise there's a steep learning curve to these things, but I'm more than willing to put some effort into it. I've enjoyed mods for so long, it'd be great to be able to give something back, after all these years :)
