Dinkypoodle
I've just acquired a new SSD which I moved skyrim to, and when I started it I noticed that I'm missing some sound effects like my characters footsteps, loading screen music, in-game music and the sound mechanical contraptions or doors make when interacted with. I decided to scan Skyrim through steam and I was apparently missing a file which Steam said had been re-downloaded and installed, though after re-starting Skyrim I still had the same issiue. I then decided to re-install Skyrim on my SSD and I still have this problem.Note; The game worked completely fine on my HDD.
jesusristus
I guess you still get the sounds for discovering new dungeons, villages and such? It's a script issue. What mods do you have installed?
Dinkypoodle
I guess you still get the sounds for discovering new dungeons, villages and such? It's a script issue. What mods do you have installed?I also forgot to add that when it comes to combat, the only sound that my character makes is when it sheathes it's weapon, I also do not recieve any sounds when I discover dungeons, villages or the likes. As for mods that I am using; My OS is also not running on my SSD, though I do not know if this actually affects anything. jesusristus
Maybe my guess was wrong then... Check that those sound mods you're using are compatible with each other and this might sound dumb but are you sure all the volume sliders are turned up in options?Just copying and pasting the files from one drive to another may not be enough if there are programs like mod manager that still points to the old location. I don't use NMM myself so can't tell where all the places it keeps the files these days. Btw. when you use RaceMenu you don't need Netimmerse Override separately, so disable that it's redundant. Dinkypoodle
The sound mods should be compatible to my knowledge as the sounds that do work does have some changes to them, the volume sliders are also up along with that I had to re-install NMM along with mods after re-installing skyrim due to only the plug-ins being visible after I moved all my files to the SSD (before re-installing skyrim the first time). Also thank you for that info, I'll get rid of Netimmerse!
Dinkypoodle
UPDATE:I've re-installed skyrim onto my HDD which also has my windows 8.1 OS on it, and the audio bug has dissapeared now.
pedigreeann
I am also not getting any audio - music, shouts, the lot. Except for the intro music. It all worked perfectly fine yesterday, but today when I fired up the machine, this fault appeared. I had not added any mods or changed anything, especially not in the audio settings, which I checked. Re-booted the machine - no dice. Turned it off for an hour - ditto. Gotta get my Skyrim fix.
