Tolrick
I am having massive troubles getting a bunch of mods to work in FO4. First off, I put in Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer -CBBE-, but it doesn't work at all. I've checked the mod file, it's there. Checked the FO4 data files, they seem to be there, though only 4 of them have actual images, the rest are just DDS files with no thumbnail images. A number of things I put in are appearing in my Mods data folder in NMM as compressed zip files still, and I have no idea what to do with those, or even if I should. They are: Black and Red Vaultsuit_FULL_Male and Female No Spin Ups - Gatling Laser and Minigun with Dmg Patch Star Trek Original Series Phaser Ponytail Hairstyles by Azar v2.5a Star Wars - BlasTech E-11 Everyone's War - Female combat veteran backstory FAPP - Fit And Perky Preset for CBBE Bodyslide Glorious Female Nude Mod (CBBE Compatible) None of these work in game at all... However!! There is a compressed file in here called "FIXED FILE-13312-1-2"When I open that, it has the info on a mod called Atomic Annie - Unique Gun, which works fine in game.So I am at a loss there too.The ponytails by Azar have bald placeholders in character creation, but no hair. Finally, a few mods are appearing in my Mods tab, but aren't transferring over to the Plug-Ins tab where i can put them in a load order. I can list the ones not appearing here if needed, but I feel like I'm going to start overwhelming with information. What am I doing wrong? I even tried putting in the unofficial patch from the Creator's Club thing, just in case that was unofficially needed like the Skyrim SE one is.I also have uninstalled all of this, including the NMM and reinstalled it all, one item at a time. Mind you, I understand I have a lot of mods. I check to see what is required and I don't grab much that looks like ith will affect the same things, unless I understand right away how the load order should work.I did the same thing for Skyrim SE and had no issues getting everything to work.Granted, now I have to go back in and reinstall all -those- mods too. But i can save that for later, when I'm not getting upset by this game's seeming inability to do what it is told.
Tolrick
Oh yeah, and every time I turn on Nexus Mod Manager, it tells me I don't have an .ini file and i should run FO4 before doing anything.I played vanilla FO4 for about 2 hours before installing any mods the first time, just to be sure.It still says that every time. Wolfgang0302
I am having the same problem, actually I have had this problem for a while now and the only thing that seems to work is downloading and installing them manually.
Tolrick
OK, this says I have no Fallout 4 INI file.I do have a Fallout4_default.ini file. Why is this not the same thing, or for some reason is NMM just not acknowledging it? Also, if I am manually entering the [ARCHIVE] lines, do I have to put those in the Fallout4_Custom.ini file and the Medium.ini, High.ini, and Low.ini files? Or will just the custom file do?Do I need to leave the Fallout4_default.ini file in place? Or do I replace it with the custom one? WatsItFoxSixx
When you run the game for the first time it should create those INI files. I've heard cases of the FalloutCustom.ini not being created. You may want to run steam's verify integrity of game cache and see if that will download and create the files for you. Tolrick
Further updates: I have moved my entire Steam install from Program Files x86 to just Program Files.I have avoided using the program files folders for any NMM direct install as well, since it says that can cause conflicts.Should I just move Steam completely out of that area into it's own C:/Steam folder? I'm getting a little desperate for help here people. Edited January 9, 2018 by Tolrick

I've run the game multiple times now, it doesn't create a Custom file. Should I delete the one I've created and put the default back?
Tolrick
Just for my own information, I ran the Bodyslide program and looked at the CBBE body presets. None of them had completed textures. It was like looking at half finished mannequins. So I am now again uninstalling every mod and the NMM and reinstalling each item, one at a time, and checking in game and the Bodyslide after each individual mod to see what is causing my problems. I expect to be done sometime next month.. *grrr* Really not appreciative of how tough Bethesda is making this all. Edited January 9, 2018 by Tolrick
WatsItFoxSixx
I'm not sure how you have everything set up Tolrick. But if you only have one drive I'd recommend installing Nexus to your C: Drive (If that's what is it called) and install it to a folder named "Games" create the folder in your C: Drive not inside program files. Then have Steam installed to your Program Files x86. There should be no conflicts this way."Should I just move Steam completely out of that area into it's own C:/Steam folder?" No, If Steam installed it to Program Files x86 that is perfectly fine."Should I delete the one I've created and put the default back?" For the Fallout4Custom.ini? I don't think that matters an awful lot if you create a new or not.I can't see what you have and don't have let's go with this. Where your game saves are located do you have three INI files under "Documents >My Games > Fallout 4" which are Fallout4Prefs.ini, Fallout4Custom.ini, Fallout4.ini And inside your Fallout 4 Steam install directory do you have Fallout4_Default.ini and a Fallout4Prefs.ini inside a folder called "Fallout4". If you have those of those files set them so they are not set to "Read Only" run the game and create a save. And then lastly edit them like so. WatsItFoxSixx
If all else fails I honestly have no idea how everything has gone wrong. You could try using the "Fallout Configuration Tool" by Bilago and see if that helps.
