H.A.S.T.E. gone?

If I were a mod author, I would follow the examples of what I've seen on how many mod authors seem to handle negative comments. I've seen it so many times where there will be some negative comment made and nothing more added to the comment - no acknowledgments, no replies. Then a constructive comment or question will get posted by another user at a later time

This is exactly what I do. I never ever reply to a negative comment. When I mean negative its not a constructive criticism of anything I've made but rather trying to make the design choices I went with into 'bugs' or things they really loathe and some reason need to tel me how 'bad' it is to them on a personal level. I will let another community member step in and say something, hardly will I even reply back. I really cannot be bothered to have my feelings hurt over someone not liking my creation. Perhaps if they were personally attacking me and not the creation I'd feel different but a creation can take all the hate and I'll let it adsorb the blow. They cannot no matter how bad they;d like take the mod down or alter the uploaded files on the mod page. If they have an envisioned design they are more than welcome to open a 3D application, scripting program, or the creation kit and make what they want .. but they won't and that is not my problem.

Lyrics from one of my favorites songs I feel applies to modding pretty well:

"Write a review, tell me what you think of this
Give me three stars and call me an idiot
But to be honest, it don't make a difference
I know some people don't get it"

Just wanted to post that I followed the link to his/her Steam Workshop and it appears that the mods were reuploaded. It states that his/her account was hacked. If they share the same login info here and their steam account, that might solve the mystery of why they "disappeared" suddenly. : (

Interesting info. Thanks LadieWinter. I'll try to reach them via steam and see if we can help.

Sure. Happy to help. Hopefully if this the case, all this will be cleared up.

Well said! and I love the song lyric you shared. :) Yep, often it ends up being a problem due to not following the author's directions or inexperience with modding Skyrim in general. Cheers!

Oh no! It would definitely explain the sudden disappearance. Poor guy! :(

The crime reporting part of H.A.S.T.E. Modified a lot of factions (animals, bandits, barbas, draugr, skeletons, forsworn, giants, mammoths, horkers, skeevers, player horses, etc) to enable all of the "ignore crime" flags.

It also set Smithing as the relevant skill for Tanning Rack and Smelter, so they give experience.

Turned off a whole bunch of settings related to auto-aim and NPC dodging.

That's all I can remember. I merged those settings into my personal tweaks plugin. When I went back to endorse the mod I found the same thing you guys are discussing.

Someone from Russia tried to hack my Steam account several weeks ago.

Interestingly, it was right after I set up Mod Organizer 2 for SSE and had entered my Steam credentials. Within a day someone tried to log into my Steam account and had my password.

I have two-factor authentication set up so I was notified and immediately changed the password, no real harm done. But they got my password from somewhere. The password was not one I use anywhere else, and not generic.

"I can't remember the exact details but I just remember a lot of people complaining how the author altered the magic issue and I'm thinking "if you don't like it don't download it". That's the view I'm coming from. "

Now, I don't build mods or Alpha test them or tweak them, I'm 60+_ and retired... I just want to play the damn game. But HOW CAN YOU KNOW if you'll like a mod if you don't download it? And sorry, but when YOU design a mod that is a game killer, and the problem doesn't show up until later, don't blame those of us when we TELL you that (a true example) removing the doors from the Riverrun inn kills the Dragonborn story line, or that the pretty wall paintings does the same to the Dawnguard expansion. True, we need to be appreciative of mod builders (and we ARE), but mod builders HAVE to understand that when they post a mod, THEY have the responsibility to ensure that it works properly under MOST circumstances, and that a certain amount of tweaking is going to be necessary. The lions share of the responsibility is on the mod creator, NOT on the end user. If you can't do it right, don't do it at all. And THEN feel free to flame us if we whine.
