Ryzen amd Mobo confusion?

Recommended Posts

Hello i am planning my build officially but have no idea what is the best Motherboard to go along with a Ryzen 7 1700  .

I bought this one, https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-AX370-Gaming-K5-rev-10#kf

It hasn't failed me yet it seems to be very stable with 16GB of corsair dominator 3000mhz RAM

The only thing it doesn't have is a front usb-c header.

I also used,

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B350M-MORTAR-ARCTIC.html

But this was very slow to POST even after several UEFI-updates.

From what I've read, MSI motherboards seem to be slow to post in general (at least for Ryzen I guess). I have an MSI board and it takes quite a while to post sadly. The UEFI is a good though, which is a plus. ASRock and MSI have some of the better UEFI's from what I've seen.

Speaking of ASRock, I'd suggest getting their X370 Taichi board. I have no experience with it, but pretty much every tech channel on YouTube seems to use this board for their Ryzen test benches - and that must be a good sign.

In the event your curious what MOBO I have though, I have MSI's B350 Bazooka board. Other than being slow to post - it does just fine with my Ryzen 7 1700X.
