PrimeElder Owen Lyons examined the great holographic map table before himself that had come with the resources of the formerly sealed up NewPentagon. The map was of WashingtonDC and some of the surrounding areas of DC. It did not go far as East Virginia or the coastal areas of Delaware and Maryland. The map was of the PreDD version of WashingtonDC.

He spoke. "The ECBoS (East Coast Brotherhood of Steel) was sent ultafrequency tight beam signals from Terran Low Orbit but its source was unable to be tracked. Amongst the mass of datafiles gained were keycodes to getting into the semiruins, of the NewPentagon, with out being shot at by robots, remoterobots or turrets. We are now the DCBoS, the District of Columbia Brotherhood of Steel, and we have new polices, new agendas and new protocols."

Alice Lyons, triplet sister to Terry and Sarah, was a high ranking officer of the DCBoS Command Network. She wore combat fatigues with out body-armour and, despite her being a StaffMarshal, only a few extra small symbols. There was no gold braid in the Brotherhood of Steel, at least not the ECBoS or the DCBoS; the others had been long lost from those two.

She spoke. "So far we have explored-investigated only Sector A of the NewPentagon. It was a fully functioning command post in the sense of strategy and logistics along with military security intelligence. Yet it has always been whispered that Sector A was mostly an expendable decoy for the deeper, more important, parts of the NewPentagon. There were also whispers that not all, of the OldPentagon, was destroyed and that its deepest most levels were in their own surviving bunker complex; supposedly in those were hidden very dark PreDD secrets."

Shaun Fender, another StaffMarshal, grimaced. "There is no evidence of any form of way from the lower hull of the NewPentagon, as so far explored-investigated, that indicates anything below that."

Alice frowned at him. "Security Intelligence has gained data indicating both a way down, from Level A, but from outside of the NewPentagon altogether. As you know, I am the StaffMarshal for the DCBoS Security Intelligence Office, the DCBoS-SIO. Thus I have access to data beyond your current level of security clearance."

Shaun Fender was a puppet-follower of Henry Casdin who was very orthodox in his thinking. The only reason that he had come east was that orthodox Elders, of the ECBoS, had wanted him to keep a check on the activities of Owen Lyons and his loyal followers plus allies. So far Fender had failed to keep any real 'check' on the Lyons Faction but Alice had come to suspect that the Fender Faction was up to some kind of planned treachery. Not only that but that the treachery had been planned even before the expeditionary taskforce had set out to create a second BoSEnclave. The other was the Lost Hills BoSEnclave.

Elder Sage Reginald Rothchild spoke out. "Apart from a few amber classified datafiles, a few upgrade prototypes of standard military hardware, all we have found is incomplete datafiles on research development efforts in DC. The focus of the NewPentagon Command Section was on dealing with threats posed by the Soviets, Zetans and PanNazis along with others not so heavily specified in official terms."

Elder Lyons spoke. "Like the kraken in the deep oceans, the dragons from the deep earth and the greyyari also from space but far more dangerous than the zetans who once served them as slaves. There were the positive glowing spheres that were called the BrightOnes. There is a clue that at least one LibertyPrime superbot can be found here in the NewPentagon's deeper depths."

Rothchild frowned. "Why was I not told of this earlier. My interest in the LibertyPrime Project is well known."

Alice frowned back. "Because we only found the intelligence recently as a lost fragment of data in an old semiactive databank. It had other interesting data bits amongst a good deal of rubbish. It was as if a bad attempt at been made to total wipe the databank. It was most likely made during the confusion in the months before Doomsday."

Others had their say but the only real resolution was that the current DCBoS agenda had to go ahead as planned.

The two children came kind of sneaking along the monotram tunnel, being a female and male teenager. With them were two robots, on a junkabot protectron type and another a floating junkabot eyebot type. Then there was a big old friendly packdog, a big black crow, a large radmolerat and a big ginger tomcat. The friendly radrhoul was a cleaner skinned cousin to a radghoul.

All had backpacks or other type packs fitted to size, and shape, even a small one adapted to the crow.

The girl spoke in a grumpy tone. "Okay, I admit it, I got us lost. We need to get back to the corner of Command Avenue and Rank Street. We have some prizecaps and there seems to be some good loot at this station. Rubin, why are you frowning? That is not like you."

The boy spoke. "We are not alone, Saltis. The subway station only looks empty."

Saltis nodded. "Maybe but I sense no danger."

They went up a small utility ramp to the station proper and looked around. Saltis spoke. "Tinlegs, Juber, Thomas, Crowcrow, Molie, Tangleit and Eyebie stick close."

The floating junk-eyebot spoke. "If I had a laser, I would laser any baddies."

Thomas, the cat, gave Eyebie a dubious look before speaking with on odd throaty voice. "Eyebie shoot Eyebie in own foot with laser if have one."

Eyebie bobbed up and down. "Funny pussy should stick to grooming herself all the time."

Saltis frowned softly. "Enough, sweeties! We need to focus on surviving and scavenging. Look there, some stuff in a loose pile. Odd it is there like that. Also, Eyebie, Thomas is a male cat, a tomcat, remember."

Rubin shook his head. "It was not there a moment ago, Saltis."

Saltis shrugged. "We could fill up our packs with loot."

Janita was suddenly standing there, with Thomas quickly rushing to rub himself up against the supersoldier's legs in hope of being fussed over or getting a nice snack. "We are heading towards the same area as you need to go. You had better come with us."

Then there were nine supersoldiers there along with the Mysterious Stranger.

Thomas was picked up by Janita to be hugged by her. Tangleit, the radrhoul, gave a jump, shivered, and moved behind Janita who squeezed his hand in reassurance. Juber licked the gloved hand of a supersoldier and got scratched behind one ear in response. Eyebie, thankfully, did nothing silly and Tinlegs just stood there making soft beep beep sounds. Rubin studied everything carefully. Crowcrow looked indifferent, perched on Rubin's shoulder, and Molie just sat on his hind legs panting softly.

But was that all of them?

The Mysterious Stranger spoke. "Do you remember how you got here?"

Saltis shook her head. "We kind of woke up in a utility chamber not so far from here and made friends with more Tangleit who seems to be suffering from a horrible skin condition, the poor thing. We hoped to borrow some stuff from this unused monorail loop. Except look at those dead left overs. Maybe one of them plague thingies came through here and the government sealed it all up."

The Mysterious Stranger spoke. "What year is it, Saltis?"

Saltis gave him an odd look. "2077AD, of course, everybody knows that though mum says that we use only one of many calendars in use around the world. Our family is very poor and we scavenge what we can. The federal government is crumbling and the DC Government is crazy so welfare payments, and allocations, are getting fewer and fewer. So, tall and handsome, what year would you say it is?"

The Mysterious Stranger responded with amusement showing in his voice. "I am the Mysterious Stranger. The year really is 2277, that is almost exactly 200 years since Doomsday that took place on the 11th of the 11th 2077."

Saltis frowned. "I don't like you, for saying that, and you have a funny name."

Rubin smiled hopefully. "Saltis, the Mysterious Stranger just told you the truth."

Saltis visibly relented. "Okay, I forgive you."

The Mysterious Stranger spoke. "Thank you for being so very generous. You can call me MS if you want."

Gameteamrep (Gameteam Representative), and Gamelordess, SaSashrish went over 4Drecordings of actions by the first Gameteam sent in of now renamed Gameplayers. On-in her special body confirming chair, the beauteous, powerful, Gamelordess picked up traces of wrongness in what was happening. She noted slight inconsistencies but made no notes of such matters though officially she should have done.

Given the way the Gamegod dominated the situation despite the Gamegoddess' best efforts, she sensed that somehow the Gamegoddess herself was linked with what was happening with the pathfinder Gameteam, as it was being called for now. Adjustments were being made through out the Gamepyramid, the Gamebrain was subdividing into thirteen Gamebrains as the Gamebrain Pyramid. The change of status of clones from Gameplayers to Gameclones signified a big shift was taking place but it was hard to see just what was happening or who was really in control.

Yes, who was really in control of what was happening? It was not the Gamegod and it was not the Gamegoddess! Nor was it the self important Gamelord Elders Council or any other institution like it, most of which were still being constructed-completed.

SaSashrish decided then-there to support newly renamed Gameteam Clone AlphaAlpha001 both openly, and secretly, in different ways. Soon she would be having high tea with her mother, the High Gamelordess, in the Glorious Peacock Gardens in the District of Cafe Gardens of Gamelordcity.

17.2[30]

Sanctuary Alpha was the Game Deities and the Gamelords. Sanctuary Beta was the Gamebrain Pyramid and other service support to them and all three official Sanctuaries. Sanctuary Gamma was the Gameclones, the common mortals and such like including some true immortals. Most Gamelords considered Betafolk to be below notice but not her; the High Gamelordess had taught her daughters too well for that to happen.

In many ways Gamelordcity was designed to reflect the ornate beauty of Imperiarna (Imperial City) of the Septum Empire of the Gameworld of Nirn being centered on the supercontinent of Tamriel. The District of Cafe Gardens was extremely popular and even the lesser Gamegod folk went there at times.

MissFortune fired off one of her handcannons, of identical type to those used by the MS, and hurled backwards a Talonthug without actually doing him any direct damage. The male Talonthug, taken by surprise, smashed into a woman Talonthug so that both fell helplessly to the ground.

It seemed impossible that a single woman figure could bring to a halt a much larger force of thug-mercenaries but that is exactly what was happening. The planned treachery, on one of the DCSyndicate Families, had not been going well even before MissFortune had showed up. Of poor discipline, training and resources, the Talonthugs had already lost a good deal of interest in continuing the mission.

Then there were the metal cubecanisters that had appeared being of MREs, fatigues, stimpaks, boots, 3Dmagazines, holotapes, robot parts, tools and much more but no weapons or ammo. The thugmercs picked up their newly gifted loot and headed back the way that they had come from. As they went their officers made up a story that, hopefully, explained their actions in a 'good' way to their commanders.

MissFortune observed them leave along a broken side street. She had sensed worse threats in the area, than those Talonthugs, and had actually saved them while making matters hopefully less complicated to deal with. In her leather armour, and other gear, of mild skimpiness, the very attractive youthful woman slipped away into the semiruins of an area of urban semiwilderness with overgrown parks full of mutated plants, some of it more mutated than others.

A small herd of wild radcattle grazed but not too close to the thicker growths where giant carnivore plants could endanger, and devour, even a full grown radbull or radcow. They had a couple of well guard radcalves with them. Life went on even if it often had to struggle to do so.

The FarWanderer Prime had noted Mysterious Stranger was with the Gameteam and the Wonder13 group, of whom only nine were evident, while MissFortune went on investigating treachery amongst the DCSyndicates and MrWalker was on his way to the new DCCitadel which was the DCBoS name for the NewPentagon.

There was a link between the three missions as carried out by the three FarWanderer Secondary Aspects and that was that an evil, powerful, subtle, force was attempting to manipulate the whole Gamedomain for its own gain. It was doing so with out consideration for what harm it would do to others or the Gamedomain itself. It was designated as the SecretEnemy until its true identity would be found.

The FarWanderer had tracked it to the Gamedomain, a dimensional pocket realm that theoretically should not exist. Was the SecretEnemy somehow linked with the creation of the Gamedomain? The FWPrime had its doubts but assumptions were always dangerous, especially with such as the SecretEnemy.

The FWPrime had made vanish a heap of toxic drums and the toxic spill around them. It was soon recycling the even the metal drums and was making good use of all of it in the FWDomain (Far Wanderer Domain). A changed ghoulawocky/13 had joined a large community of very diverse lifeforms there where the Mysterious Stranger, MrWalker, MissFortune and itself had also sent other entities. Other, FarWanderer related entities, directed-coordinated-supervised that realm and its large settlement.

After much of WashingtonDC had been destroyed, long before Doomsday, there had been much reconstruction and a few complained that a would be comedian had gained control of the naming of new features such as avenues, parks, streets. Old names were often kept but not in the same places. So was the Gameworld background data but the truth was that the Gamegod considered himself to be most humorous and only the Gamegoddess' influence had stopped the jokes from 'going to far'.

So it was on the corner of George Washington Crossing, and Dontrocktheboat Avenue, that the FWPrime encountered power armoured clone cyborgs identical to the ones that had battled the Gameteam and the MS. They were laser shooting down fleeing radghouls, that were of not threat to them, laughing and making bets with each other. Radghouls howled in terror, as they made shambling runs for safety, being too panicky to consider going into buildings for cover. It was butchery.

It was when one of the monstrous power armoured figures proposed causing more pain, to their victims, that the the FWPrime unleashed waves of energies and the power armoured cyborgs vanished away while the dead radghouls were resurrected and the others healed. The changed radghouls would end up in the FWDomain but not the others; they had a darker destination that they already had arrived at.

While the MS had not detected any deep information about them, FWPrime picked up some. They had been materialised there after being teleported from some agency known as the DCInstitute that was very well hidden beneath the GrandMall somewhere. Problem was that the GrandMall was extremely large, complicated and was largely in semiruins.

:pirate: :pirate: :pirate:

They were all in the Gameteamcube, having gained a special kind of change though how was a mystery. The Wonder5 were learning about the PostDD world with mixed reactions while research had found no details of them in available PreDD data. That was no surprise for much PreDD data was missing and the Wonder9 had been linked to PreDD scavengers eking out a living in part of the GrandMall Underworld as populated by fringe dwelling poor, misfits, criminal escapees, muties and much else. It was the same Underworld, or so it seemed, that Ghoultown was now part of along with Supertown and other fringe settlements. The Underworld was partly a great series of artinatural caverns of a supposedly not completed program-projects.

Janita was facing the Mysterious Stranger. "We need to continue travelling to Ghoultown."

The MS nodded. "Of course and one of the monorail trams will take the Gameteam far closer to it. How many Gameclones will remain with the Wonder5 in the Gameteamcube?"

The lieutenant turned to study Rubin who was carefully examining a Vaultboy Bobblehead the finding of which had granted the Gameteam added agility by a small, but important, degree. The bobblehead showed a blond, white, boy-man doing a hand stand on one hand. He was dressed in a blue vaultsuit. Janita was reading a book about Doomsday being one of a relatively few PostDD publications. The book did not even pretend to be anything more than a series of 3Dphotos and essays, having more questions than it did answers. Juber was sleeping with Thomas sleeping on top of him and Molie sleeping next to Juber along with Crowcrow sleeping on top of Molie. Eyebie, and Tinlegs, were in adapted rest-recharge bays.

Janita responded. "Of the thirteen, at least three down to one. One at the very least."

Oddball sat down next to Rubin and they were soon chatting. The other Gameclones were active around the same big chamber or were in sleep-capsules. There were many types of duties to carry out but the truth was the Gameclones were a little wary of the Wonder13 children for they, as clones, had never been treated very well by nonclones but for a few exceptions; that is except for Oddball who liked to talk to Rubin.

The Mysterious Stranger smiled. "Your people will get to like the Wonder13 very much."

Janita frowned softly. "There are only nine of them but then again, there is an odd sense that is not true. They do not even know the age difference between us."

The MS nodded. "That will not matter except that Saltis may respond oddly to the truth."

Janita smiled. "Why am I not surprised?"

:yucky:

With a soft humming noise, the monotram moved steadily along the tunnel that had two monorails, being clockwise and counterclockwise in nature. There were ten Gameclones there and the Mysterious Stranger along with Saltis who had insisted on coming and Eyebie who came, in theory, to be her bodyguard. Saltis was hugging Eyebie to herself, who was supposedly comforting her.

Saltis spoke. "I remember coming this way before, in a vague fashion. That was back when some sort of plague thingy broke out here. The government sent in those nasty black killbots, to make sure nobody was alive to be carriers spreading anything bad, but we saw none of them, at least none that I remember. It was my idea to come into this area and my fault..." She shrugged. "We came to no harm, that is clear, so no worries about that. MS, what do you look like inside that armour?"

The Mysterious Stranger shimmered and now looked like a very broad shouldered man wearing grey fatigues, body armour and a caphelmet. He had redbrown skin, dark brown eyes and was very ruggedly handsome. "I have no 'real appearance', as you might know it, but will this do?"

Saltis nodded. "You are very hunky adorable! We don't really need to stop at the next monotram station."

Janita spoke. "Yes, we do need to stay there. If something about that place makes you nervous, then you can be sent to the Gameteamcube along with the very brave Eyebie the eyebot."

Saltis kissed Eyebie on his top and the robot made some lights blink faster for some seconds. "Okay but I... think that something bad happened to us there."

21.2[36]

On the small single platform station they found the skeletal remains of various lifeforms and ruined robots. It was not hard to deduce that they had been two children, an adult, a dog, a cat, a molerat, a crow along with two robots. They had been blasted down by 20mm autocannons and burned with laserguns.

"Killbots got us all even though two of us were robots and none of us living ones were infected. Those oversized eyebots were heavy armoured-armed and polished black." Saltis shuddered softly. "They did not even try to listen or to check if we were sick though I must admit I did feel ill and I had these strange red splosh marks."

The MS sighed. "The killbots correctly diagnosed that you children had the Redsplash that was named after the strange marks that appeared on people as they grew sicker and began to die or to become monsters; most died. It appeared that some kind of force resurrected you indirectly, giving you new bodies including the robots."

Saltis shrugged. "Well I say 'the past is the past' so lets get some good loot while we are here."

So they did getting NukaCola products, bottles of Vim, some toys including a robot teddybear and some other stuff but they left most things behind. Saltis said that one should always leave at least something for other scavengers to get, even important stuffstuffs.

Saltis was surprised when Janita gave her a quick hug-kiss, then kissed Eyebie, and so was Janita herself.

They found a floating copperish prize bubble and the big surprise was that not only the MS saw it but so did both members of the Wonder9 though they were supposed to be NCPs who could not do such. Saltis was gleefully happy with the find.

Roachie001 through to Roachie012 were settled in nicely in the routine of eating, washing, defecating and sleeping. Private Tom Ralting conducted some research observations on them and soon befriended them as pet-companions. The radroaches contributed important elements, with their poop, for samples and to the new glowshoom growth tanks where elongated, luminous, vaguely mushroom like glowshooms grew. These in turn were proving to be important in certain experiments. As the science officer he soon wished to stay with the radroaches more often and worked out that fussing over them was an important aspect of experimental parameters.

Sergeant Stephen O'Henry did some work on taken robots, upgrading them for possible future use inside the Gameteamcube or outside of it or even both. Two tronbots were being so worked on along with half a dozen more basic remoterobots. Often another Gameclone assisted him if not Rubin who was turning out to be a very clever techie. Stephen assisted Rubin with work on Eyebie and Tinlegs.

Tangleit played basic educational games, designed for his use. He had once been the big brother to the twins, Rubin and Saltis, but even before Doomsday had had difficulties being mentally handicapped. His nickname had been Tangleit because of the amazingly tangled knots that he could easily make that nobody else seemingly could undo except for Rubin.

Corporal Ali Sandington had experienced no more of her mysterious inputs of data. She talked with MS and both gained something positive from those discussions.

They were all busy and life went on!

23.1[38]

 :verymad:

MrWalker found the monolithic Washington Memorial easily enough because it towered high-wide into the air. It was not the original one, that was toppled during the American Second Civil War of the early 21st Century. It was a much bigger, taller, replacement that was still very sturdy as it was made of superconcrete and self repairing smartmaterials along with being cared for by autorobotic network-systems.

A settlement, of Washington Towertown, was well established there with its own leadership council, sheriff's office, school, militia, Orderhood outpost, a library and other resources of the kind. The Washington Tower, as it had come to be commonly called, was not only high-wide above the surface but at its base was a large solid building and it had useful basement levels. Washington Towertown was mostly called just Towertown.

Yet, in more recent times it had come under increasing danger from an influx of supermutants, Talon Mercenaries and raiders into the area along with other threats. One were mysterious cyborgs in power armour who were of most murderous nature that equalled that of the worst of the tribal, warlord, gang or other raiders.

The DCBoS had set up an outpost at Towertown with its own resources, including Steelguards, and had begun the basic uptraining and upgrading of defensive and other capacity. This would not have been done by the orthodox thinking ECBoS who generally ignored common Wastelanders. In turn the DCBoS gained information, access to some useful resources, new recruits and a growing alliance.

23.2[39]

:excl: :excl: :excl:

MrWalker faced Knight Captain Berrings of the 2nd Monument Defence Detachment that was soon to be renamed the Towertown Defence Detachment. The man was grim faced, lightly scarred down one cheek, and with redbrown skin. Tall as he was, he was shorter than MrWalker but that was no surprise. They were in the entrance chamber of the DCBoS Outpost.

MrWalker spoke. "I am MrWalker, as linked to the Mysterious Stranger, and MissFortune. We were involved with assisting the ECBoS with dealing with the EagleEnclaven when they were based on that massive ocean rig. I need to meet with the PrimeElder."

Berrings nodded. "I heard of you, the others, but if there wasn't something about you that indicates you are being honest or I would not tend to believe in you."

MrWalker smiled. "You are refreshingly straight forward and honest. That is why you do not like becoming entangled with the politics of command and competing BoS factions. I would stay here, in Towertown, for a few days and help to repair supertech network-systems such as the tower defence force fields designed against missile attacks and the super phaseradio array to communicate more easily with the DCCitadel."

Berrings nodded. "Excellent! You could also help us with other facilities or even uptrain the techies here to do more than they can now. I have only one squad13 of actual Steelguards along with some Steelsages doing field research and Steelscribes recording-cataloguing newly obtained information. The DCBoS has shortages of resources, especially higher level ones, but trained-experienced personnel is the biggest. Towertown was chosen for its important strategic position and its relative ease of logistical support. It is also a major trade route hub with caravans coming through from RivetCity, CanComs (Canterbury Commons), Rivertown and other major settlements including the three DCVaults of ShelterVault1121, ShelterVault1190 and ShelterVault1345!"

ShelterVaults were generally shallower buried, less complex, less sophisticated, and less secure than were such as LifeVaults and ServoVaults but there were far more of them. ShelterVaults were the basis of many settlements but also too many of them had fallen, had become deathtraps, had failed to survive Doomsday. There were whispers of other, terrible forms, of TechVaults as they were named in general.

MrWalker spoke. "Crazy Wolfgang's Trade Caravan will be arriving in about two hours with six radcattle pulling carts full of goods, four dogs, five junkbot carrierbots, a MrHandy, five workers, five guards, a bookkeeper, a navigator, a bodyguard and Wolfgang himself, of course. He has greatly broadened his range of tradegoods but still carries a lot of junk-tradegoods."

That information was passed on to others in Towertown. Soon the trade caravan arrived, which was a good thing as the locals would be happy to see it, but Wolfgang also brought bad news with him. The settlement of Banjoville had been suddenly attacked by strange power armoured figures who seemed more intent on carrying out death-destruction than on looting. Only after a savage fight, did the dug in defenders drive them off but eight settlers were killed and twice that badly wounded. MrWalker knew at once that they were of the same faction as the FWPrime, and the MS, had already encountered.

It was a growing problem that needed to be dealt with as soon as possible.

24.1[40]

:verymad: :verymad: :verymad:

Mr Burke half slouched in a chair in Moriarty's GirlsNGames Saloon in the settlement of Megaton. New instructions, from his mysterious employer, had come to him along with a fairly generous payment in EIDs and prizecaps. Except that at least half of it would be needed to be used for such as bribes.

Mr Burke was treacherous but knew better than to even consider betraying the Master Shadow and his ilk. Mr Burke used to work in partnership with another man but that one had tried to cheat on his contract with the ShadowCircle; the fool had burned from the inside out so fast, and fiercely, that his gear was not even hot let alone damaged.

He had considered detonating the Hbomb that the Children of Atom had at the very bottom of the great sized Megaton Crater that was the bowl shaped Megaton Lake. The Hbomb was on a small artificial island, in the center of the crater lake, on-in a jury rigged but sturdy cradle. Except that the Hbomb was a fake as smuggled into very early Megaton by the CoA.

This truth amused Mr Burke and he even considered black mailing Confessor Cromwell who had instigated the fraudulence. Except that he gained too much from the religious nuts, such as information, and did not wish to jeopardise that. Information was what he gave over to Master Shadow, or his cronies, including stuff that Burke himself did not see as important but it was not his position to judge nor could he care to do so.

He had to watch out for Sheriff Simms, and his people, who seemed to have gained an unhealthy interest in his activities.

24.2[41]

Burke spoke to Gob while watching two strippers dancing, and removing their not very large amount of clothes, on stage. He had thrown some prizecaps onto the stage earlier but not too close to the young radhuman women. "Almost everybody are radhumans or radghoulmans or radghouls or radghoulers up here in the Wastelands. You could be worse off then being a radghoulman. I will have another bottle of Megaton's sorry excuse for beer and I want to examine the bottle cap in case it is a prizecap, thus being mine."

Moriarty frowned. "You only rent the bottles so any prizecaps are mine, Mr Burke! Stop asking Gob stupid questions; it makes him work slower and wastes my wages payout for him."

Gob frowned. "What wages?"

Moriarty sighed melodramatically with evident self pity. "100 tradecredit worth a week going back to when you started working for me. Be happy that the Moriarty Family has realised that the money they gave me, to pay you, has not gotten to you. You can also have a bonus of 500 VMTs (vending machine tokens). Those scum, of Moriarty Family Elders, would like an excuse to have me killed."

Mr Burke grinned. "Got caught out, Colin? You should have known better with that DCSyndicate Family of yours. Brotherhood of Steel has moved into DC for the first time."

Moriarty shook his head. "No, they had some scouts here years ago; I know because I met one who came here to Megaton along with a dozen Wastelanders. One was some kind of scientist who had his baby daughter with him. I almost got to like the man."

Mr Burke watched the now naked women pole dancing. "Where were they going?"

Moriarty grinned. "Now, now, Mr Burke you got your free bonus information."

Burke placed a stack of EID cards on the counter. "$670 in EID."

Moriarty made the cash vanish. "Never learned the name of the Sister of Steel and only the first name of the scientist who called himself James. I figured it was his real name but who can really tell? They went, from here, to some place called LifeVault101. I do not know its location or how to get there or I would happily sell you that information as I would have sold it to others who have sought it like some stupid raiders."

Mr Burke nodded. "More than good enough, the information, but I wish the beer was better."

Moriarty only grinned and walked away but as he did so he spoke. "Gob, get my friend here one of our better bottles, of beer, as a gift from the saloon."
