Converting esps to esms

Yo xen!

I had that duplicating problem first time I started too. When you load the plugins do you get a message saying "Warning Active Plugin not specified" or somehting? If so, highlight the plugin you want to load as an active file and click the "Make active file button" Now when you save, you save over this plugin so the duplicating bug shouldn't happen. This worked for me but I don't know if it will for you! And believe it only gets more annoying and annoying and........ :ranting:

hm, after searching I came to this post.

all I can say is I have the same problem.

I like to mess around with the telvanni stronghold, making it more bigger and placing it on top of mountains, makes me feel more godly :P

But anyway, after playing for 2 weeks I decided to move the stronghold.

Though its already loaded in that save file inside morrowind.

When I loaded the new .eps file (which has the new "replaced" stronghold) I noticed I now had 2 telvanni strongholds.

When loading a new game, the problem did not occur.

So how can anyone prevent this "duplicating" problem, cant the save file be edited somewhere or are you forced to start a new game?

(plz dont flame me)

dont use an esm unless your doing a tc other wise just use an esp... what is the big fascination with esm's? they are of litle or no use unless used in a TC and even then there converted to an esm as the very last step befor distrabution. if your doing any modification use esp ... thats what its there for if your doing a tc use esm or esp both will work :)

Ac3s, you don't have to start a new game. You just have to load your savegame WITHOUT the plugin that moves your stronghold, save it, load it WITH the plugin, and there will be no duplicating. BTW I think this thread should be locked, I posted it a VERY long time ago.
