memlapse
After several sessions in group therapy and an extensive period of self medication, I am now free of script dragon. Yes...it can be done. I have learned to live without it. I am no longer held in thrall by the whims of a talented, yet sadistic modder in Russia (this is sarcasm and humor, so don't flame the hell out of me). The patches have improved stability and performance enough that I can live without Skyboost, which hasn't been updated for quite some time, and Alex, for what ever reason, is not able to provide a timely update this round. Rumors of another beta next week may have scared him off, who knows. It doesn't matter because I'M FREE OF SCRIPT DRAGON! I can play my game when I want. I can happily embrace the latest patches because I know SKSE is all over it like flies on road kill. I encourage you to all take the 12 step program. Just walk away from SD and get your gaming lives back.
Roxana
Mod Mnager is an excellent idea for mods but why make it a login? that was my point. Like so many websites who offer "free" service until you find the catchesI totally FAIL to see why I must "login" MM even once and especially whenthat "once" was when I was d/c. My ADSL is highspeed (Husband's business line) but it is via an old serverexchange and hence lapses at home (not work) often and having to log induring frequent d/c is a PIA. So, sneer if you like but logging in for MM is UNNECESSARY and a cause of problems for me. I work very hard(like many others do) . My relaxation is RPGs and thank godfor fallout 3 not being via steam(try it at very hard/extremely slow levelling/neverusing stimpaks Rad X or Radaway(food, water and trips to home or doc) andwith reds in every direction. thompsonar
SKSE is up to date and has been since pretty much right when the patch was released. I don't use script dragon so I dunno about that. The new patch is working very well for me. Then again all the patches have worked well for me, haven't had the problems many talk about. Oh and I thought pretty much everyone knew all ready that selecting "Do Not Auto-Update" in steam really doesn't do anything. You have to stay in offline mode and/or block steam with your firewall. There's also a program floating around here somewhere that is supposed to keep updates from happening, Skyrim unplugged or steam unplugged I think? Haven't used it so I dunno. SKSE isn't working for me and your superior attitude is as pointless as was the language elsewhere. I only log on with problems so like all those who do so, I was not aware of the other ways to beat steam. In addition , even if I did, I have children here who have "other" steam programs and would be on me like a plague of mosquitoes if I stopped their patches I agree that Alex has an unappreciated job but it always seems to happen when I have "my turn" at this PC and no smart comments about buying another as there are four working PCs in this room(win 7, 2 XP & Win95/98, it is just that certain spoilt little sods want to play gmes other than Ultima VII, Wing Commander prophecy, Daggerfall, Morrowind & Freelancer. Between &^%$#%^ steam, SKSE, ScriptDragon and the RIDICULOUS LOGIN for modManager which I will never again use in later games it is almost pointless buying games. No wonder piracy is up and well.If games were cars the manufacturers would go broke fixing them but they would still be stolen. Post is a little old at this point but I had to just say that I'm not sure what superior attitude you're referring to. All I did was mention that I haven't had issues and that steam updating even when told not to has been talked about over and over on these boards. If you haven't been on that's fine. I also pointed out a mod (or program I'm not sure which it is) that is here on the nexus that does not allow steam to update Skyrim, you may want to check it out if you still need to use steam for other games. I know you're frustrated but no reason to jump on me for trying to be helpful.
