Just logging in to say **** *** Bethesda for nearly breaking my modded playthrough.

Thank **** some kind soul uploaded a backup of the old exe so I can continue playing.

When are they going to learn that no-one gives a rat's ass about CC updates. Christ it infuriates me.

It appears as if there is a problem with the latest F4SE. I noticed earlier today, (25-Jan-2018) that the new version is up.. I now am looking at the silverlock.org web page ... and the F4SE runtime is now the older version. Also; I am seeing reports of F4SE crashes with the new FO4 "patch" on Reddit.

Every time Bethesda does another FO4 release ... I cringe!

When will these stupid releases from Bethesda end?

Never???

So far, after updating to the new F4SE (Fallout 4 runtime 1.10.64 - build: 0.6.5) I initially couldn't run FO4 with the new F4SE. I'd execute as normal, get my fancy-dancy waiting circle and then ... nothing. So, I ran FO4 from Steam and it booted no problem. Until I tried F4SE again. Nothing. Then, lo and behold, FO4 wouldn't launch from Steam either. So ... disabled and uninstalled all mods. No joy. Had to validate files to get FO4 to run now. Okay. Problem solved! Err .. wait .. nope. Now back to F4SE not launching the game. So guess I'll try a rollback and wait like everyone else. Yayhoo!

Hello

Today when I tried to launch Mod Organizer 2 a window came up saying Fallout 4's update is newer than F4SE can run. Has anyone else had this notice ?

Did I load a new mod that caused this ? Need Help Thanks

The main game has been updated to version 1.10.64.0 five hours ago . F4SE is currently for game version 1.10.50 .0 . so it won't work along with the mods that need it

They will update F4SE as soon as they can for the current game version. when they do download the new version of F4SE

Then your have to wait for all the mods your using F4SE in to update from fallout 4 1.10.50 .0 F4SE

To fallout 4 1.10.64.0 F4SE Then reinstall /update them also

You can roll back your game with steam console To version 1.10.50 and continue playing Till F4SE & the mods catch up to the update

That's what i do i roll it back and wait for everything to catch up . Or try this for the future .This is a handy mod that backs up your exes if you need to roll back https://old.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26956/?

Welcome to modding

Can i use this "fix" safely? For eg: When the new f4se comes out and and the mods that rely on f4se are updated can i just switch back to the latest fallout4.exe? Or are my saves screwed?

Got a couple things to help you out. First there's FO4 Custom Steam Launcher. It works like a charm, and is really easy to set up. Now you can launch FO4 anyway you want and the script extender will run, even when launched thru Steam or whatever mod manager you use. Second, you need this to protect you from future unannounced updates, Fallout4.exe Auto-Backup. That will backup your FO4 executable, so if Steam updates/breaks your game, you can easily roll back to the previous version and your script extender will still work. Of course you will have to set Steam to play OFFLINE or Steam will just update the game all over again.

Anyway, those two mods are designed to help protect you from just this kind of situation, and they work great. I especially like the custom Steam launcher one, so that I always have FO4SE script extender running no matter how I launch the game. Hope this helps some people.

Edit: Oops, I replied to the wrong person, and I can see he's already pointed you toward the FO4 backup mod. It's early and just having my first cup of coffee, so give me a break. I had the best of intentions..LOL But seriously, look into that Custom Launcher mod, it's awesome and really easy to use.
