Scopc Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 For some reason my character started going slower and slower as I played the game and it got to the point where the game is literally unplayable due to my character slowing down so much they can't even move. The speed affects anything relating to movement such as walking, running, sprinting, sneaking, swimming, etc. It doesn't seem to be a ingame thing since I don't have any diseases, I'm not carrying too much, I'm not even wearing heavy armor. Tried using the player.setav speedmult command and it had no effect. It's also only happening on this current character. I would really appreciate some help.
Schattenu Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 I started having the same problem recently. Haven't the slightest idea where it came from, but I found a temporary fix, provided you're on PC: in the console, enter "player.getav speedmult" and that will show what your movement speed is. It should be 100, but chances are it's around 55 for some reason. The type in "player.modav speedmult X" where "X" is the number you add to get it back up to 100 (so 45, if it's at 55). It doesn't always register the change in your movement speed, but entering and exiting sneak mode should get it back to normal. Like I said, though, it's only a temporary fix. 1

Just tried and and returned to normal speed. Now I can finally play Skyrim without the speed of a dump truck.
Schattenu Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Heh yeah, it's incredibly aggravating. It might happen again, though, it's happened to me repeatedly. That's why I said it's a temporary fix. It's also a reliable fix, though, so it'll have to do until/unless someone manages to find the cause and give a more permanent solution.
thetechgenius Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Turn on God Mode with "TGM" in console, to make sure its not related to the actual gameplay.
Schattenu Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 I did try god mode to test that, it's unrelated. Happens with that on, too.
