Is the CTD R6025 still a thing in Special Edition

The only thing that ever worked for that was doing the mini quest in the Soul Cairn - But you need to go back to a save prior to entering the Soul Cairn for the first time <- There is no way around this, the problem starts somewhere in the Soul Cairn, so to be sure you dont start it go back to before you entered there.

Then before you leave the Soul Cairn, find Jiub.

Complete his quest to gather all of his pages.

Now you can continue the game and should not have the r6025 bug.

It was the most annoying problem I ever had with Skyrim - See this topic

And that was the only sure fire method of stopping it :

Now for Skyrim SE, I have a new machine (which we believe can be relevant), and I have not done the Soul Cairn thing yet ( too busy restarting the game testing so many things to get anywhere near there so far :) ), so I doubt if I can advise as to whether it will occur or not.

But from what I have seen around the various forums and Bazaars .. Nobody has experienced it in SSE yet.

And SSE is a far more stable experience altogether especially with USSEP installed.

I haven't been to the Soul Cairn yet on a new SSE playthrough but like alt I've not heard of anyone running into this issue. It's likely that the change to 64 bit forced them to recompile in a newer version of VC++ and that eliminated the error. Or perhaps it generated an actual compile time error and they fixed it. We'll probably never know.
