Any issues if I stole Umbra?

Hi Guys.

At level 6, I managed to attack and killed Umbra (I had a lot of agility, so I shot her, run outside, climbed a rock She couldn't reach, shot her to dead). Later I had a guy that asked me to join their "dark people" club or something. Now, I know my killing was "watched". Apart of this guy, I wonder if this will affect my relatively peaceful life on the rest of the game (I mean, I'm only on level 6).

Thanks.

**SPOILERS**

You can safely ignore the Dark Brotherhood quests if you want, but the weightless dagger will remain in your inventory forever that way (not a bad thing really).

Killing Umbra is a part of a Daedric Shrine quest, and doing her in when you did should not affect that quest in a negative way (if you speak to Ma'Raska when you get to Clavicus Vile's shrine so the quest updates properly).

Umbra, the Sword is part of the Daedra quests and before you starting it Umbra, the warrior will not attack you and so killing her is accounted as a murder. Since the quest involve only the sword it can yet be fulfilled. The price is you being tagged as murderer and you being invited to the Dark Brotherhood.

If you wanna play along the DBs quests you need just do what Lucien asked you. If not, just continue as normal and you will not be bothered again by then (although you can't get rid of their dagger in normal ways).

Since you crime wasn't witnessed by anyone aside that 'unknown forces' not even a fine must be over you for it, so you have your whole life to redeem yourself, your wannabe paladin :)

When killing an "innocent" NPC for the first time you will be contacted by Lucien Lachance, Speaker of the "Dark Brotherhood".This is the "Murderer Guild". Someone wants somebody dead, he calls the Brotherhood and they remove this somebody from Existence.

He offers you the Chance to join the Brotherhood. He'll give you a Dagger called "Blade of Woe" which is weightless and a Questitem.

Lachance asks you to kill a Man named "Rufio". You can however, choose to let Rufio life and the Dark Brotherhood wont bother you again.

If you kill Rufio, Lachance will visit you again to tell you that you are now a member of the Dark Brotherhood and how to enter the Dark Brotherhoods Sanctuary.

You may kill Rufio to get acces to this Sanctuary. You'll get a neat light Armor which is quite nice for lower levels, also there are some nice Spells to buy, which are also quite nice for lower levels.

The Contracts are very difficult for someone in your level, so if you choose do get into the Sanctuary, dont try to make the Contracts at once =)

I got in trouble once for killing someone IN THE ARENA... it must have been a bug. But anyways, in previous games I had gotten the knife and knew I couldn't get rid of it, so I killed Lucien, and the quest immediately ended and I didn't have to take the dagger. I got a message about how "The doors of the Dark Brotherhood were shut to me forever" or something.

Anyway, that's the easy way to not have to do the quest.
