Prenihility
Alright...Now, i've been too caught up with Steam, and have been spoiled by it's convenience... How do you patch a game if you get it on disc? Is it automatic; sort of like how you boot up a game on a console and simply be prompted, because there's a new patch? Or...Do you have to do it the old fashioned way? I remember patching games back in the day..Actually installing manually and finding the patch and downloading it. We've all been there... Damn that's annoying. Also, what does that mean for mods? I know that with Oblivion, for instance, you can just delete any section of the game data, verify cache and Steam will download it right back for you if you ever medd up terribly with a mod. That's nice and convenient; just throwing that in there. Does ANYTHING differ in terms of modding if you have the game disc as opposed to the digital version? One more thing... I really, really hate my DVD drive. It has a tray... I like self-feeding drives. Trays annoy me, and i feel that they scratch discs no matter what. I wanna have the physical copy of the game...But i don't want to have to put in the disc EVERY time i want to play... That's just a huge let-down for me. I remember playing Battlefield 1942 and being able to play without the disc in the drive. I have no idea how it was done... Anyone know? I just wanna install the game, and never have to use the disc again.

Damn that's annoying. Agreed. But nothing beats having an actual physical copy of a game. Unfortunately you do indeed have to manually patch it, the old school way. Does ANYTHING differ in terms of modding if you have the game disc as opposed to the digital version? Aside from having Fallout 3 installed in the steamapps folder if you have the digital (a.k.a. steam version) instead of a folder of your own choosing, nothing changes. Both version can handle mods just as well. One more thing... I really, really hate my DVD drive. It has a tray... I like self-feeding drives. Oooh...Cool, how exactly would i launch the game through FoMM? Is it obvious, once you open the program? Sorry, im paranoid, i've never launched Oblivion through OBMM, hehe... Also, what's the latest version of the Unofficial Fallout 3 patch? Also, is it even recommended for Fallout 3? As the Gamebryo engine has had a lot of work done in Fallout... It's much better than it ever was. Much more stable game, definitely. Edited April 17, 2012 by Prenihility
BlackRampage
Oooh...Cool, how exactly would i launch the game through FoMM? Is it obvious, once you open the program? Sorry, im paranoid, i've never launched Oblivion through OBMM, hehe... Yeah, it's quite obvious. Basicallly all you have to do is click the "launch Fallout 3" button in the upper right corner. Note: If you have FOSE (Fallout Script Extender), which is essential for many mods, the button will change to "Launch FOSE". Aside from that nothing much changes. Also, what's the latest version of the Unofficial Fallout 3 patch?Latest version of the unofficial patch is 1.2.0But before that you should make sure you have the latest official patch (Version 1.7) for Fo3 first. Also, is it even recommended for Fallout 3? As the Gamebryo engine has had a lot of work done in Fallout... It's much better than it ever was. Much more stable game, definitely.Well, personally I don't use it, so I couldn't really say whether or not you should get it or not. What you should know is that it was originally made before the official 1.7 patch came out and thus many things that were fixed in the un-official patch were fixed in the official patch too. That said, there are still many things that the un-official patch patch fixed that were not in the official patch. As for the Gamebryo engine's stability: Well, it never was very stable to begin with. The only real improvement to it came with Skyrim's Creation Engine. (which is based on the Gamebryo engine)

Do all PC games comes with the cover art sliding off of the case? It's a completely separate piece, it doesn't even stay on the case. What's up with that?! HOWEVER, i only received a French version of the instruction manual (Canadian customer). I have emailed Bethesda about this, and im hoping they send me an English manual...I mean, they SHOULD, right?
