Thanks for pointing this out. I've seen a few other reports regarding the same issue and am aiming to have it resolved before the next giveaway goes up.

Or since you're using a different currency, 3 winners could win £10? One winner out of what I assume would be millions of people seems kind of hopeless. Either way, it's a cool gesture.

5 vs 3 vs 1 isn't a huge difference when we're talking about millions (or even thousands) of entrants. Still, there could potentially be giveaways in the future with multiple winners. As this is very new for us we are still playing around with it and will likely try a few different things to see what sticks and what doesn't.

Thanks for the input! Edited by TerrorFox1234

This application will be able to: Read Tweets from your timeline. See who you follow, and follow new people. **Update your profile.** **Post Tweets for you.**

Why? Why can't you just do something nice for us and ask us to retweet, like, upvote, etc? Why do you need to update my profile and post under my name? Hm?

GladiusIII wrote: One of the ways you can enter is by tweeting with a certain hashtag. I would have guessed that by agreeing to let them post for you you can tweet something right from the competition entry page without opening twitter.

The site simply re-directs you to twitter though, so why they need that permission is anyone's guess.
Zaldiir wrote: That comes from the Twitter API, and has nothing to do with Nexus Mods really. Every website that has a "post to Twitter" thing does this. Some are just more open about which rights you are giving that application.

As Zaldiir pointed out, that comes from the Twitter API. These are necessary permissions for the Gleam widget to talk to Twitter.

The "Post tweets for you" permission is what allows Gleam to create the entry tweet we set up when you click that action in the widget.
In regards to your followers/follows/timeline... we have no interest in your Twitter information whatsoever. We don't track that information or even look at it. We especially won't be updating anyone's profile.

I hope that clears things up for you.

You can still enter with a valid email address!

Going forward we will also be implementing a mandatory action that will require users to leave a comment here on Nexus Mods and enter their NXM username. That way we can ensure that the winner comes from Nexus Mods (and it will give those without social media an additional entry option!)
