Wolfmod
In an attempt to understand the workings of Body Slide I've created real problems with my game. I have CBBE as my choice of body installed in my game and I also installed "Body Slide and Outfit Studio". I opened up "Body Slide" and chose the "Emfy Cleric" outfit by Deserter X to experiment upon and made sure I used "save as" and it was all saved to "My Emfy Build.XML" to not mess everything up. I just wanted to understand the real basics that no one seems to want to explain like what does "Batch build" build? I had moved all the sliders trying to figure out what each did. To cut a long story short, when I exited Body Slide and launched my game I discovered that the follower I had who was wearing the Emfy armor now had clipping issues to put it mildly. She was now coming through the armor with stockings etc buried in her flesh. So, I undressed her, put the Emfy outfit in a chest, saved, exited the game and uninstalled Emfy. However, I did not want the re-installation of Emfy to even know about previous settings so before I re-installed Emfy, I went into NMM and deleted the mod entirely with the idea of a clean install. I also deleted "My Emfy Build.XML" in Body Slide". I then launched my game without Emfy but I got a CTD a second or two after hitting "Continue". So, I re-installed Emfy. The CTDs continued. I loaded a game several hours previous to my last save, away from my home, forge and the chest where I had stored my corrupted Emfy outfit and at a point long before I engaged in any of this foolishness. The game loaded and I thought I had solved my problem. Unfortunately, any time I forge this armor and save my game, that save will now CTD. I could try many things but I think blind ignorance has been sitting in the driver's seat for long enough. Can anyone help me get out of this mess? CBBE in SSE is far too short of Stylish armors for women for me to accept this.
Algabar
Okay, seems like you need some basic knowledge of bodyslide. It basically works like this:1. Create a body you like using the sliders - or simply use one of the presets like CBBE slim, CBBE curvy...2. The "build" button in the middle is used to transfer this body shape to the game. This means: Once you hit that "build" button, female player characters and every female NPC (except for some followers or NPCs changed by mods like "Bijin Wives" - these have their own body meshes) will use this body shape.3. If you want to build armors fitting for your preferred body shape, you will have to use the "batch build" button. Before using it, you should click the "groups" window and check the armours you want to build. So, "batch build" basically means: "Adjust armours to my previously selected body shape". Probably that's what you've done with your Emfy Cleric armour. Clipping occurs, when the body shape used by an NPC (in this case your follower) deosn't match the one you used for building an armour in Bodyslide. BTW, you could have known this if you took the time to look at least at some of the documentation provided on the Bodyslide mod page. As for the CTDs you mentioned: That's really strange. If you reinstalled the armour (and didn't make a mistake while doing so), everything should be good. No idea what's happening here. What version of "Emfy" exactly did you install? Wolfmod
Thanks, Algabar. "BTW, you could have known this if you took the time to look at least at some of the documentation provided on the Bodyslide mod page." - Errrm... no. The documentation for Body Slide is some of the worst I have ever read. It's ambiguous, is filled with unexplained jargon, makes assumptions and worst of all, targets experienced modders and programmers along with users who need help installing a mod and treats them as if they all shared the same knowledge. As for the CTDs, my first error was to delete the mod rather than simply to uninstall it. However, I had to because the re-installation would have used the files that were already there. The other issue is that I don't really know what I did in Body Slide because I was trying out everything to see what it dd. Build, batch build, along with altering every slider. So, looking at your comment, you say, "Once you hit that "build" button, female player characters and every female NPC (except for some followers or NPCs changed by mods like "Bijin Wives" - these have their own body meshes) will use this body shape." Well, I did hit the "build" button and I got a message box telling me that I had been successful in altering certain NIF files. Was this changed information merely a setting save in "My Emfy Build.XML" or did it actually go out into the game itself? Did I also change my CBBE? I'll just wait until I can get further help before I go making more mistakes.
Algabar
So, looking at your comment, you say, "Once you hit that "build" button, female player characters and every female NPC (except for some followers or NPCs changed by mods like "Bijin Wives" - these have their own body meshes) will use this body shape." Well, I did hit the "build" button and I got a message box telling me that I had been successful in altering certain NIF files. These are the following meshes in Skyrim Special Edition/data/meshes/actors/character/character assets: femalebody_1 and femalebody_0, femalehands_1 and femalehands_0, femalefeet_1 and femalefeet_0. Don't worry: You can always revert any change you've made: Just choose a different preset and "build" the meshes again. If you feel completely uncomfortable with this, you can always re-install CBBE again. This will replace the custom meshes with the preset you chose for CBBE. So, yes, you probably changed the female body in your game. Basically, that's nothing to worry about. The wonderful thing about Bodyslide is, that you can always choose to have a different body shaep - and adjust your armors to it. Jeir
'Build' affects the currently selected body/outfit, and only the currently selected body/outfit. BatchBuild affects everything (that hasn't been removed with the filters) If in outfit/body you have (e.g.) 'Emfy Cleric Boots' selected, when you hit 'Build', only the boots will be built. If you want any other mesh converted to your preset, you would have to select each one in turn and 'Build' them, or use BatchBuild. But, without filtering the outfits, when you click BatchBuild, a popup with every installed BodySlide-able mesh will be checked, and will be built unless unchecked. If you leave everything checked, then another popup would have appeared, listing all conflicting files and asking you which one you want built (it's not recommended to ignore this, as you may end up building 'physics' meshes, which can crash your game if you don't at least have xpmsse installed.) So, to refine the list to something smaller, such as if you only want the 'Emfy Cleric' outfit parts to have a certain preset, leaving everything else alone, you can use the GroupFilter. Click on the magnifying glass in the Group Filter drop-down, select 'choose groups', and check the box(es) for the outfit sets you want to build with the selected preset, and click 'ok'. You can now BatchBuild, and only the meshes within the selected groups will appear in the popup, so when you click 'Build' there, only those meshes will be built with that preset. The reason why the outfit part you made clipped was because you probably only built one mesh (outfit or body) instead of the body and all outfit meshes. If I remember that particular mod type, it consists of many different parts to make one outfit. If they're not made for the same body shape, they'll clip.If you're using standalone followers - that is, followers that have their own body meshes/textures, separate from the player/other NPCs - then you would need to change their body as well to match the outfit preset. You would do this by going to the standalone followers' mod page to find out where the body files would be, then in BodySlide CTRL+Click-ing the Build button while CBBE Body and your preset are selected, and when you're asked where to install the files, select the file path the follower's mod page said the body meshes should go. As for that outfit in particular crashing for you, I'm afraid I'm not sure. By reinstalling, any of that outfit's files made by BodySlide would have been overwritten. Although, if you did click 'BatchBuild' on your first try, and didn't uncheck the physics body, that could be the cause; every time that body mesh gets loaded (such as by removing clothing), the game would crash. The fix would be to reinstall CBBE/build the 'CBBE Body' in BodySlide.
