JimmyRJump
Fallout 4 Script Extender cannot be installed through NMM and must be installed manually. Download the right version for your game from silverlock and unpack the zipped file. Then drag 'n' Drop the contents of the unpacked file to the game's root folder, i.e. where the regular FO4 launchers are sitting (except for the "whatsnew" text file). Done. Now you can install mods that depend on/need F4SE. Launch the game through the f4se_loader.exe or change the settings of NMM to make NMM use the F4SE launcher to start the game. Play. KeithTough
I too seem to be having this issue, And I have followed gophers instructions before with out issue, except now. Initially my game refused to load, so I uninstalled it removed all my mods and started fresh, or so I hope.My second attempt at it I loaded the game and thought I would to the smart thing and load F4 SE first, That didn't take, even after several attempts. What happens is as mentioned by others I created a 7z file and either dragged it into NMM, or used NMM to install it.The initial install works ok,, until you close NMM and reopen it, where F4SE has the red circle and hash through it, I can re-activate it, but as before as soon as I close NMM, to un-install F4SE.Try #3 I did the same as before of un-installing everything and starting fresh, even grabbing a fresh copy of F4SE with the same results. at the time of this writing the game version is 1.10.111,0 F4SE Version build 0,6,12 Also I am new to PC modding and likely have done something wrong, any HELPFUL advice wold be greatly appreciated. JimmyRJump
@KeithTough: Again, you cannot instal F4SE through NMM, eiher automatically or manually. You need to download F4SE, extract the files and drag 'n' drop the content to the game's root folder. Then add either a shortcut to your desktop that points to the f4se_loader file, change NMM's setting (top left) to start the game with F4SE or use Bilago's Configuration Tool and set that to start the game with the F4SE_loader. The method referenced here (Gopher's video) is NOT for installing the loader and dll's with NMM. It is for installing the scripts (pex files). I've been doing this for a long time with no problem, atm on NMM 0.65.10 (from github) and game version 1.10.106. @KeithTough, don't have any silver bullet apart from trying the latest version of NMM (0.65.10, github-releases: https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Nexus-Mod-Manager/releases )

Doesn't work, whatever version of NMM you use.
DjinnKiller
He specifically say he's been following Gopher's instructions before without issues, and now have problems.Assuming he actually did follow said intructions, recommending the latest NMM is a perfectly valid advice. Just that it doesn't matter what version of NMM you use since it's impossible to install F4SE through NMM.
