That makes a difference, doesn't it?Well, no matter.This thread have a positive point: To alert everyone to the very core of the problem.It isn't a nomenclature issue, it's a behavior one. What is said here is meant to be general instead aimed to someone. Much evil is done in the goodness name. Indeed I meant, just maybe, the "problem" is we going beyond the "duty", doing even the search, chew, digest, and mouth feed as only a mother bird does to her babies. I am officially a newbie. you were of course correct nosisab and i now kneel at your very feet. discard all that i have said in this post for it is merely a lie from an untrained friend. I am really asking this cause I am really lost :blink:As far as I understand it, the OP was getting upset because they were trying to do something, and rather than being told specificly step by step, almost everyone who responded told them to search for a tutorial. The noob situation was probably because they felt like they were being ignored just because of post counts or something. Beyond that, there were some comments about how anyone with more than 1000 posts was a lazy moron who only earned those posts by copy and pasting "go look it up" or something, which led to most of the initial responses. You really didn't miss much. The discussion has pretty much resolved itself, even the part on the meaning of noob. macmert Posted June 27, 2008 Share Posted June 27, 2008 oooh I see :D Well I dont know how to mod and I am afraid to ask around since I am pretty sure everyone will link me to a tutorial, probably the one on wiki or something, which I read countless times and couldnt manage :D But I cant read the tutorials when I run the CS (I dont have net connection to net at home I dload at work) but I am not whining about it... Or should I :D or when you whine and cry and snap at people, the whole community will stop and think for a moment and say "Oh God the kids are right, we should help these poor youngsters, it is what we have the oath for" or something :D The thing is the people try their hardest to help the newcomers in this forums, if people don appriciate it then be it... I dont care if one calls me a noob or I dont get appriciated when I try to help... I just try to help, if I know about it of course... Oh well I guess this topic is all over since IMHO we are losing time here, we should pack up and go, try to help the newcomers around the forum... To begin, I AM greatful for those that help others with no gun to their head, no amount of money for it, no community service hours, but out of the kindness of their hearts. Let me repeat, i am very greatful for that. if you don't believe me then pls go to my other topics and at the end of everyone one of my statements their will be a thank you of sorts. Not saying u have to go and look just saying that's about my only evidence. Second, yes i had someone on the forums a while ago say something along the lines of saying "Look it up noob". the thing about it is, i wasn't talking about everyone, nor was i talking about him directly. You might have noticed i never used any names on it. I'm just saying anyone in general that says that. AND i'm not saying this to people who say "i'm not sure maybe u can look it up" or something among those lines. I'm saying it to those that say "look it up --->NooB<---" just cause they could be a tad more polite. Third, i can take criticism well, so i didn't care and wouldn't write this topic. HOWEVER my so called "Friends" keep annoying me with things like "how come my topics haven't been answered, it's been a whole 3 mins. the jerks" and since they cry to me specifically, i have nothing better to say other then similar reasons to the first few replies. They haven't believed me so i thought it would be better if they heard it from bigger modders. which now they have and most of them understand. Funny how they don't listen to me a friend yet they listen to a few strangers. Fourth, when i say hardcore nerd i mean it in no way as a put down. Whenever my friends ask me what i'm doing, most of the time i say playing such and such a game or programing or something that "Nerds" would fall under. they say ur lame. and i say hardcore nerds all the way. I am one thus i don't see why it's so bad to be called nerd. also noob is used an offensive yes, but not me. anytime i'm playing a large multiplayer game and someone says noob to somebody else, i'll say something along the lines of "Look at me i say noob, that makes me cool" cause it's a dumb reference. where as on here instead of people calling the topic writers noobs, they basically say "Ding, how can i be of help?" which i respect. Fifth, call it what u will but i don't think i was kicking and screaming like a baby at all. if i wanted to do that i would've just used puppy eyes. heh..... So what you are actually are whining about is the people who try to humiliate you about your question? Well that tends to happen, I would say ignore them all the way, this forum has lost quite remarkable modders over this, some forum pervert rate their work bad just they didnt like the mods... So this will happen all the time, I mean this is the world order, there are good people bad people lazy people selfish people selfless people you think about the rest... So dont give a crap I say, there is a great quote about this, you americans and english use it I guess... Sticks and stones can break my bones but words never will So... Yea so whatİ?
