RoaringPenguin
I had been having a well-performing playthrough (completed Dragon rising, some Thieves guild, general dungeons) with almost no problems whatsoever. However, after completing the red eagle quest and leaving rebel's cairn I have been experiencing many CTDs in short spans of time (usually within 5 mins of loading the game) for no apparent reason (some occuring on loading screens, others during playtime) Load order (sorted by loot) 0 0 Skyrim.esm 1 1 Update.esm 2 2 Dawnguard.esm 3 3 HearthFires.esm 4 4 Dragonborn.esm 5 5 Lanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main.esm 6 6 Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp 7 7 BSAssets.esm 8 8 BSHeartland.esm 9 9 BSPatchSE.esp 10 a BS_DLC_patch.esp 11 b Campfire.esm 12 c Falskaar.esm 13 d GameOfThronesArmors.esm 14 e Cutting Room Floor.esp 15 f Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp 16 10 Celtic_Music_In_Skyrim_SE.esp 17 11 LegacyoftheDragonborn.esp 18 12 Immersive Sounds - Compendium.esp 19 13 iNeed.esp 20 14 iNeed - Extended.esp 21 15 3DNPC.esp 22 16 Book Covers Skyrim.esp 23 17 Skyrim Immersive Creatures Special Edition.esp 24 18 Blues Skyrim.esp 25 19 Blowing in the Wind SSE.esp 26 1a Blowing in the Wind - Lanterns of Skyrim Patch SSE.esp 27 1b Helgen Reborn.esp 28 1c Undeath.esp 29 1d OBIS SE.esp 30 1e Man Those Borders!.esp 31 1f Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim.esp 32 20 MoonAndStar_MAS.esp 33 21 Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp 34 22 Holidays.esp 35 23 Skyrim Better Roads and Bridges - All In One - Merged.esp 36 24 Run For Your Lives.esp 37 25 Cloaks.esp 38 26 Cloaks - USSEP Patch.esp 39 27 1nivWICCloaks.esp 40 28 Inigo.esp 41 29 dD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Realistic.esp 42 2a Lore Weapon Expansion.esp 43 2b PrvtI_HeavyArmory.esp 44 2c Immersive Patrols II.esp 45 2d Joy of Perspective.esp 46 2e JoP - Immersive Armors Patch.esp 47 2f YOT - Your Own Thoughts.esp YOT - Campfire.esp 48 30 YOT - iNeed.esp 49 31 DBM_HelgenReborn_Patch.esp 50 32 Populated Cities Towns Villages Legendary.esp 51 33 Hunterborn.esp 52 34 Hunterborn - Campfire Patch.esp 53 35 Hunterborn - iNeed Patch.esp 54 36 Chesko_WearableLantern.esp 55 37 Provincial Courier Service.esp 56 38 DBM_MAS_Patch.esp Blowing in the Wind - RLO Major City Exteriors Patch SSE.esp 57 39 notice board.esp 58 3a ForgottenCity.esp 59 3b PrvtIRoyalArmory.esp 60 3c draugrweap_standa_en.esp 61 3d BetterQuestObjectives.esp 62 3e DBM_CRF_Patch.esp 63 3f DBM_Undeath_Patch.esp 64 40 The Paarthurnax Dilemma.esp 65 41 DBM_NoticeBoard_Patch.esp 66 42 HoldBorderBanners.esp 67 43 DBM_iNeed_Patch.esp 68 44 Blowing in the Wind - Helgen Reborn Patch SSE.esp Blowing in the Wind - SMIM Merged All Patch SSE.esp 69 45 Gildergreen Regrown.esp 70 46 OBIS SE Patrols Addon.esp 71 47 Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim.esp 72 48 Apocalypse - Ordinator Compatibility Patch.esp 73 49 WetandCold.esp 74 4a Wildcat - Combat of Skyrim.esp 75 4b dD - Enhanced Blood Main.esp 76 4c dD-Larger Splatter Size.esp 77 4d Footprints.esp 78 4e WeaponsOf3E_SSE.esp 79 4f Unique Uniques.esp 80 50 BarenziahQuestMarkers.esp 81 51 VioLens SE.esp 82 52 VioLens SE - Book Menu.esp 83 53 When Vampires Attack.esp 84 54 sandboxcylinderheight.esp 85 55 Realistic-Voice.esp 86 56 DIVERSE SKYRIM.esp 87 57 Lore Weapon Expansion - Daedric Crescent.esp 88 58 Lore Weapon Expansion - Goldbrand.esp 89 59 Lore Weapon Expansion - Relics of the Crusader.esp 90 5a ISC Enhanced Blood Patch.esp 91 5b Visible Favorited Gear.esp 92 5c Ordinator - Beyond Skyrim Bruma Patch.esp 93 5d NB-Scars.esp 94 5e OBIS SE - NoticeBoard - Addon.esp 95 5f Ars Metallica.esp 96 60 Cloaks - Dawnguard.esp 97 61 Faction Crossbows.esp 98 62 Dr_Bandolier.esp 99 63 BetterQuestObjectives-CRFPatch.esp100 64 BetterQuestObjectives-PaarDilemmaPatch.esp101 65 BetterQuestObjectives-DBForevertoMisc.esp102 66 BetterQuestObjectives - BCS Patch.esp103 67 AMatterOfTime.esp104 68 SimplyKnock.esp105 69 JaxonzRenamer.esp106 6a MoonAndStar_ImmersionPatch.esp107 6b DBM_RoyalArmory_Patch.esp108 6c DBM_IA_Patch.esp109 6d DBM_HA_Patch.esp110 6e DBM_Cloaks_Patch.esp111 6f DBM_ISC_Patch.esp112 70 SkyUI_SE.esp113 71 icepenguinworldmapclassic.esp114 72 Imperious - Races of Skyrim.esp115 73 Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul.esp116 74 Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp117 75 Relationship Dialogue Overhaul.esp118 76 BetterQuestObjectives-AlternateStartPatch.esp119 77 RDO - CRF + USSEP Patch.esp120 78 RDO - USSEP Patch.esp I have got no idea what is causing these crashes and have already tried some methods: (turning off touch keyboard) and (turning off SSE fixes and high quality world map). jones177
Hi First find out if the CTDs are in your save or in your game. Create a new character & see if you get CTDs. Saves as they get older need more resources. Surprisingly NPCs use up a lot of resource & it takes just one too many in a cell to cause a CTD. Having 6 or more gbs vram & 16 gbs ram helps. Some of the perks in Ordinator conflict with other mods. The conflicts don't show up until you select the perk. It is easy to spot in the papyrus log & removing the perk fixes it. It is the only reason I do the Dragon Born DLC.Skyrim Immersive Creatures has a few monsters that conflict. You can switch them off in the MCM. Spawning mods like Immersive Patrols II can make a cell a no go area for up to 3 in game days. All you can do is go an other way. Your load list is a mine field of possible CTDs. So is mine. At least once a month I trash either Skyrim SE or Fallout 4. Fixing them is part of the game. Later
3aq
overworld/exterior ctds is usually from a corrupt/missing texture, least in my experiences. I would start off there. If you got MO2 select the "contains textures" category and then disable all textures. start up your sse, if it doesn't crash, then it's definitely due to textures. re enable a set of 50, and fire up sse, see if it crashes, keep doing that until you can pinpoint which set crashed, then enable that set of 50 by 10, keep doing that until you crash, eventually you'll find your culprit. afterwards its up to you what you do with it, you may either try and fix it via extracting or removing the necessary textures and nif optimizing it, or simply remove it altogether. magus55x
forgive me if they are, but are your master files cleaned? if they are not, that could be the source of your ctd. otherwise, try and re create the crash. if you consistently crash in the same place, check off mods until you dont crash there anymore. sopmac45
I see a lot of patches in your load order and they have been placed in the middle of it; if I am not mistaken, patches must be placed at the bottom of your load order and I agree with jones177, those two mods about creatures and immersive patrols, may be the reason of your CTD's. Personally, I tried them both before and I was getting CTD's. Not in my list anymore. Icepenguinwoldmap must be placed up in your load order as well. Your load order does not looks right. You also have two mods related to cloaks and when you have two mods doing the same thing, there will be a conflict for sure. I recommend to keep only one. Would not be a bad idea if you clean the game cache in Steam ( right click on the game, go to Properties, Local Files and clean cache ); after that, clean your master files via SSEEdit and do not forget to clean Dawnguard twice and on the second time that you do it, you have to manually remove some records. This procedure is available in Steam and I suggest that you bookmark it so you may need it in the future. LOOT is a good tool, but you have to manually place some mods where they are supposed to be by following the mod author's recommendation. Google what is the correct load order for Skyrim and place your mods accordingly.
leonardo2
I see a lot of patches in your load order and they have been placed in the middle of it; if I am not mistaken, patches must be placed at the bottom of your load orderSometimes it isn't necessary to move a patch to the bottom for two reasons. 1. It depends what master the patch has and if it has let say Mod A and Mod B will cause a minor conflict with Mod A then a patch for Mod B and in this example Mod C, the patch, needs to be like this. Mod AMod BMod C 2. Another thing that's important to know about is where in a loadorder a mod is loaded also decide where a mod patch needs to be, which could be almost anywhere in a loadorder. To sum it up; Always read the readme for a mod, especially the Known Issues section, and reading the readme can save you some time. blitzen
Immersive Patrols and Immersive Creatures are problematic? I was using them both in Oldrim for a long time without problems. Is this something that started happening with SSE? I have them both installed right now. My game just started crashing with some regularity, but that's after a week with over 200 active plugins. I'd hate to lose Immersive Patrols. Skyrim seems empty without it. I was thinking about putting Warzones in.
