Thor.
Hey i figured i'd post this here, doesn't really fit anywhere other then the audio section of the forum. but it doesn't sense its a video upscaler.:teehee: Anyways here what i mean by 1080P upscalers, the kind that can upscale a composite video to a 1080P signal so it'll make any older hardware like the wii stretch better to a 42inch or a 1080P projector  A friend of mine was looking around for something like that and got me interested, is it worth it???. Also would be do to the make of the upscaler, theres a lot fo them out there on the market these days, ntsc region 1.I have a fiew that seem to have good reviews and so on. Like this for instants.http://www.amazon.co...sxp_grid_pt_2_2 Edited April 15, 2012 by Thor.
RitualBlack
If it was useable with a PS2 or N64 than I would definitely consider getting one for myself  .
Fonger
consider this you take a VHS player and upscale it to 1080p do you have 1080p or do you have a VHS signal playing on your big screen if you think you have 1080p invest heavily case 2 Why would a PS2 signal be any different from the VHS in performance case 3 now that you know what to look for on your display how could a 720p signal be improved to display on a 1080p display or would it simply be a 720p signal on a 1080p display or how would this be any different from a classic TV signal displaying on your 1080p monitor so the upscaler is only of service when your display refuses to display lesser signals fullscreen
JimboUK
The TV or projector should already have a scaling chip, the question is which is does the better job, the TV/Projector or the third party device? A lot of TVs have terrible scalers, even the high end ones, that's where third party devices come in handy. The only real way to tell how much of an improvement you'll see is to test it. Yeah the scaler on our LG is terrible, that's supposed to be a top of range model too. :( Luckily everything connected to it has decent scaling.
