justwannaddl
Canada huh? I heard good things about privacy there but horrible things about download caps. Considering all the talk about throttling and caps by the damned cable and phone companies though, unlimited bandwidth in the US ain't as certain as it used to be. Then again, a lot of promises about the internet in general aren't as concrete as they used to seem around here. How is Vancouver this time of year and how tough is it to get citizenship there? Note: I use around a half a gig to two gigs of bandwidth a day depending on how much I abuse video sites. I need my fix of the Daily Show, Colbert Report and South Park every week, not to mention the random hour or three of youtube and Hulu clips. Thor.
Well Bell mentioned that they are stopping the throttling by the end of this year, probably do to the crtc complaints and stuff. Also there is the small ISP option  Also the caps aren't that bad, well Rogers might be, but bell isn't. i have a 120gb limit. Premium service..I did try the Independent way once but changed do to moving :teehee: Of course they use the same bandwidth and phone lines as bell.... So in a sense your still using bell :( Edited April 28, 2012 by Thor.
saadus
The Senate will run this through. The big guy in office better come through and veto. Funny thing, I used to be Republican til I saw who voted on this bill. Now, I think we should vote EVERYONE OUT OF OFFICE!!! Korodic
The Senate will run this through. The big guy in office better come through and veto. Funny thing, I used to be Republican til I saw who voted on this bill. Now, I think we should vote EVERYONE OUT OF OFFICE!!!agreed. To be quite honest, I wish we could retaliate a little bit, these recent bills have all been an attack on our civil liberties. Of course those rich men in suites don't care, they're rich men and suits. And you know what else? If they were caught doing/saying something they shouldn't online, they'd stay home and watch movies for a while. Id be in jail.
saadus
Nobody cares anymore. It is as simple as that. Anyone on top just flat out don't care. Look at the reaction to SOPA. Companies and citizens were against it. Now, with CISPA allowing companies to spy on us, they are magically for this horrific bill. I downloaded the bill and read it through entirely (which is more then any Senator can say) and I am absolutely appalled at the writing. If it comes, I am ripping out Frontier and all the phone lines and I wound never turn my Internet on again. It is terrible at the sheer amount of corruption allowed for such a bill. They are practically spitting - p**sing on us without so much as a 'Sorry'. Edited April 29, 2012 by saadus

Korodic
I want the name of every politician who supports this so I can go head-hunting during voting season so I can hammer a big X into their names so I know who not to vote for.
justwannaddl
The link below is of how they voted in the house of representatives. I'll update the first post if this makes it past the senate. Hopefully, it won't come to that. I'd hate to have to rely on Obama's veto promise.House Roll Call: Cybersecurity
