Are all races other than redguard naturally ugly?

It might be just me really sucking at making characters, but it seems so damn difficult or impossible to make other races look really nice even with mods.

My character for example, is a Redguard female, the majority of the sliders are from a preset, with a few adjustments. In my opinion, she looks great.

I'm using the envision faces mod, and the apachiiskyhair mod.

Yet somehow all other races, especially elves, seem to come out ugly even if I spend some time trying to make them look nice.

Am I missing some mods, perhaps?

Edit: Here's an image of my character: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/imageshare/image.php?id=72087

P.S. Even before mods for Skyrim were released (I pre-ordered and pre-loaded the game, and started playing it as soon as it was available) Reguards seemed to look better.

I wouldn't say all races are ugly, but all non-human races are, especially the elves. The problem with elves is they look like fish... They got weird eyes, weird colors, weird hair that look like fins. Fish! And the dark elves look like diseased fish!

The definition of what's beautiful in TES is different than what we might consider beautiful. I say elves are supposed to look that way, even if they do look like fish. It is considered normal/beautiful in their race culture. They are elves, not humans. In fact, I really like the dark elf look, it makes them look like they could kick some nord a$$, not pose for beauty contests.

I don't know, just my opinion.

The orcs are supposed to be ugly, as near as I can tell, so it isn't any surprise that when they turn out that way. The khajiit don't look bad to me, and it is possible to make an Argonian that isn't hard on the eyes, IMHO. (Two of my three characters are Argonian.) I agree that the elves are ridiculously, pointlessly ugly, though, and I got pretty frustrated making my Bosmer character.

Right, I totally forgot to mention I wasn't including the beast/reptilian races as I see them in a whole different category.

I remember way back when Morrowind came out, I couldn't stand the looks of any humanoid race so I made an Argonian.

Speaking of which, that reminds me of the helmet topic. Back in Morrowind Argonians and Khajit couldn't wear helmets that fully cover the face, nor could they wear shoes/brogans, which makes more sense than replacing the head sprite with the helmet sprite (the way it's done in Skyrim).

Anyway, back on topic.

You've obviously never played Lineage 2 :P

Orcs are still better looking than the default Nords, Imperials, and elves.

My opinion is that someone needs to remake ALL the basic face meshes in this game. Some of the human races can look good. As I've said, elsewhere, elves are butt-ugly in Skyrim. They didn't look like that in Morrowind. They didn't look like that in Oblivion. Why did Bethesda suddenly decide to give all elves a case of the "terminal uglies" in this game?

I actually like the looks of Argonians, and think they look better than they did in Oblivion. Redguards are the best looking of the human races, I think, but in general the humans don't look all that bad. I also think the Orsimer (Orcs, most people probably don't realize they are a race of "mer", i.e., elves) are better looking than their Oblivion counterparts.

I generally play (in Oblivion) as either Bosmer or Khajiit. I tried making a good looking Bosmer in Skyrim. I failed. Epically. I gave up. The best I could do with a Khajiit was making my current character archetype (I'm playing various versions of her) look "lethal". In Oblvion she was actually quite cute. I think the problem, at least for Khajiit, is that the faces look "blocky". I've heard that Bethesda designed the mesh to make the race look more "cat-like". I've lived with cats for 42 of my 63 years. None of them were as ugly as the stock Khajiit in Skyrim, and they all looked more like cats than any Khajiit I've seen in this game.

That...

...is not what I think of when I imagine the Drizzt.
