It somethimes happens to me too.

My solution? CTRL+ALT+DEL, and cancel when manager prompts. It reduce greatly the loading time.

(Sorry, english is not my native language).

(My config: DC E5300@ 3.13Ghz, 4Gb DDR, Nvidia 8600GTS (256 Mb). Skyrim runs @ 25FPS in towns, 30 FPS in wild and ~40 FPS in Interiors, 1600x900 (AA x2, filtering x16, custom settings to textures and shadows), ENB, realistic lighting and other graphic improvements)

I'm guessing you have some config that has borked things. I suggest a defrag, that may help a lot. If you run ENB, disabling it while loading can make a big difference in load speeds. Other than that, your rig is suffering badly from lack of RAM. Upgrade to x64 and fill up your rig with as much RAM as it'll hold. Edited by Morwyn Kelm

Sounds like some sort of software / save issue to me, unless it has always been that slow. You're specs aren't terrible. Maybe only 2 gb of ram, or maybe your he'd is highly fragmented or some files on a bad sector.

I would suggest defragging hdd

Msconfig and boot only essential services

Then run the game to maximize your free ram

Cheers
