thompsonar
I have 2gb of ram and a much older cpu and gpu and my load times are only about a minute or so. I don't have any crazy graphic mods though.....

Lepisosteus38
It somethimes happens to me too.My solution? CTRL+ALT+DEL, and cancel when manager prompts. It reduce greatly the loading time.(Sorry, english is not my native language).(My config: DC E5300@ 3.13Ghz, 4Gb DDR, Nvidia 8600GTS (256 Mb). Skyrim runs @ 25FPS in towns, 30 FPS in wild and ~40 FPS in Interiors, 1600x900 (AA x2, filtering x16, custom settings to textures and shadows), ENB, realistic lighting and other graphic improvements) Edited April 20, 2012 by Lepisosteus38
MorwynKelm
I'm guessing you have some config that has borked things. I suggest a defrag, that may help a lot. If you run ENB, disabling it while loading can make a big difference in load speeds. Other than that, your rig is suffering badly from lack of RAM. Upgrade to x64 and fill up your rig with as much RAM as it'll hold. Edited April 21, 2012 by Morwyn Kelm
pygothian
Sounds like some sort of software / save issue to me, unless it has always been that slow. You're specs aren't terrible. Maybe only 2 gb of ram, or maybe your he'd is highly fragmented or some files on a bad sector. I would suggest defragging hddMsconfig and boot only essential servicesThen run the game to maximize your free ram Cheers

pygothian
If the files are on bad sectors it will move them to safe sequential blocks - as long as you let it run complete and no power failure mid way it is very safe
