Zingerfury
I found the elevate.exe file in the resource file of the vortex installation directory eg: C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources I was just wondering what the elevate.exe file does, or if it is even supposed to be there. Was just poking through the files after installation and was curious. Any help is appreciated Thanks.
SkunkMonkey
I believe that app is used to get the permissions Vortex needs to create symlinks if it doesn't already have them.

Tannin42
Almost. elevate.exe is in fact an application to trigger the UAC dialog. For technical reasons a running application can not acquire administrative rights for itself, it always has to start a new process with those rights, elevate.exe does that. It's not however used by vortex itself, elevate.exe is part of the installer framework, so it will be used when vortex gets updated. Vortex itself has similar functionality for symlink creation and some other stuff, it's just not using that elevate.exe
