nosisab
So, if I have OBSE I should launch the game with OBSE launcher and not the oblivion shortcut on the desktop?yes, but you can place a shortcut to it on the desktop and change the icon to better looking. Anyway, seems you haven't an OBSE dependent mod in your list.
macmert
It is most likely a conflict between mods... Did you disable all mods (including OBSE) and just tried to run Giskard's mods? If you didnt give it a try that way and inform what happened?
exesinxmyxalias
I guess I could start a new game with all those mods disabled, enable the giskar mods and then add the others one by one and see what happens.
macmert
Yes that is the most reasonable thing to do... See if only Giskard's mods cause CTD or not...
exesinxmyxalias
I started a new game the other day and the only mod I ran was 'the elder council' mod by giskar and I got a CTD. maybe the mods just dont like my computer. I'll try them again when I can afford to build a gaming rig
giskarduk
Arenthia in TEC has a CTD im tracking but its the only one in any of my mods that ive experienced and i never disable my mods. I will add that disabling a mod, does not remove a mod, any meshes or testures it added remains active if it edits default stuff. Thats why all my meshes and textures are original eg cloned, so they do not do that to other mods if my mods are disabled. But the same is not true for other mods, you have to use omods to be able to remove a mod completely safely or reinstall oblivion every time you change your mods around. Btw No support exists in public because i once had the best support for any mods in this community on my website and it was never enough for some people. So their bitchin moaning and flaming earned them the complete removal of all my support and all my guides and that no support policy you see today. If i did not know for a fact, id get the same crap again, you would have had your question answered on my website already and not had to drag this out for a month. But flamers spoil things for everybody so players like you end up suffering. Sorry, i do hope my answer helps you and ends your quest for answers. exesinxmyxalias
Oh I completely understand that Giskard. I read it all in your readme's, yes I actually read the things. And if I was in your shoes I'd probably do the same exact thing. I'm playing around with the construction set and I'm learning some basic things, when I get the ropes a bit I'll definitely help you out as far as that goes. I'm a podcaster and a writer so I can do voice recordings for you, or anyone for that matter, if need be. And I'm also useful for bouncing story ideas off of. If you need help with any of that kind of thing shoot me a PM on here. After I finish playing around with the current character I'm playing I'll most likely uninstall and reinstall it just for a clean slate and then try out one of your mods again. I should also try and gain a better understanding of OBMM. Well that's about it for me in this one
Varus Torvyn
I took a good long look at your mod list, and I noticed three huge problems right away. 1. Your mods aren't load-ordered.2. You don't have the Unofficial Patches installed.3. A lot of unchecked .esp files. I have read an article that stated a lot of unused .esp files in the Oblivion\Data folder can cause problems. If your Oblivion game is patched to 1.2.0416, I highly recommend you download & install Kivan's Unofficial Patches. The UOP alone fixes over 1,600 bugs left over after Bethesda released 1.2.0416. I offer you this link as a suggestion to help you make some decisions for your game. It is a link to a topic where a member was asking about black screens, but he also had some other problems. The posts contain a lot of links for you to check out. Black Screen Topic You'll find download links for all of the Unofficial Patches there, as well as FCOM Helper, OBMM, and Wrye Bash. aaronjreeves
Check out what i wrote here about CTD's, it talks about mod load order and how it f's you over, and also how to fix it. http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=68793 EDIT: Check out post #8 @ that link Im almost positive the problem your having is due to mod order. Ive had many many ctd's and now that i understand mod load order i have none.
