AI Help

Recommended Posts

So I have been working on a little practice mod so that I can Learn about how to create all the basic things so that I could put together people and story lines.

I made an NPC named Roswell. All I want him to do is wander around inside his house, eat, sleep, and maybe sit down. Just to make it look like it's really his home.

So I added the sleep package, and then the wander package. But whenever I go and test it, he will run to me and follow me around. and if he doesn't do that, he will just stand there like a dumb ass.

-----------------------------------------------

Can anyone help me a little bit to get this working? You could either tell me how to do it if I did something wrong or whatever. Or I could sent you the plugin (small file) and you could fix it and then tell me what I did wrong if that would be easier for you.

Thanks in advance for the help :thanks:

If you need more information to find the problem feel free to ask

Seems you gave her the follow package... another thing, you need to place a path grid so she knows where to wander, among other little things you'll grok with the practice.

Edit: Beware the default packages, some aren't meant to be used in general way and the NPC may cross the entire Tamriel to fulfill it, even crossing closed doors, no, don't ask how, please.

Last but not the least, the conditions that trigger those packages need being meet.

First test: I placed a path grid for him

he ran the whole path grid, but whenever he got close to me he would just run over and stare at me. Then I'd run away and he would do it again. :wallbash:

Second test: I was thinking that maybe I put his energy to high? So I turned that down...by alot. Then I added must complete on the sleep package to see if he would follow that one.

Went back to the same result. He would run to me and then constant run follow me.

I'm not quite sure if I did everything you suggested in your post? But if there's something else I need to do please let me know. Thank you so much for your help so far

EDIT: Just to let you know I didn't use an already created AI Package. I just made a new one

:thanks:

You have "continue if PC is near" checked. Turn it off, this is used for merchants to kick you out of their shop, when they're closing, or follow you around if you go into other areas of the building. Should also make sure that you aren't tresspassing, as an NPC will always follow around someone they don't like who is in thier space.

Well your right, it was checked lol but I turned if off and the same thing happened? It's weird?

Do you think I could give you the file and you could tell me whats wrong with it?

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot something  I made the whole building not trespassing for now so I wouldn't run into the problem.

:thanks: For the help :)
