audiodef
Has anyone else had quicksave stop working? After solving an issue where the FPS dropped to an unplayable level until I updated my graphics drivers, quicksave wouldn't work. It would sometimes work, after a delay, if I pressed F5 a few times. EDIT: Pressing F5 followed by escape seems to work, but I think my installation might be bjorked. I'm a mouseclick away from starting over (and not simply for this issue) but that will give me a chance to update my modding guide. LeddBate
Yeah, that sounds like a possible game install corruption. Try something basic first. Re-verify your game's Steam cache. If that doesn't work, try re-installing your game. You'll have to jump through hoops to keep your saves, but it can be done. wfandrews
Before you verify local files delete Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini in Users/your name/Documents/My Games/Skyrim Special Edition. This is where your game information is kept by Windows by default. Even if you uninstall your game those files will remain unless you use a third party uninstaller like Revo or delete them manually. It is also where your save games are kept. The mistake many people make is using Steams "delete local files" and think they have uninstalled their game. Delete local content does just what it says, deletes your local content, it leaves more files behind than it removes. You won't have to jump through any hoops to keep your saves if that is what you use as it does not touch any files in MY Documents/My Games/Skyrim Special Edition; all your saves will still be there. My advice would be to go to Steam and delete appcache, then delete Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini. Shut down your computer for about ten minutes and then start it up, verify local files, launch the game from the Steam launcher; this will create the files you have deleted. Validating my Master files as I described above is usually the first thing I try if things have gone a bit awry in my game. It usually works so it is a simple process to try before going on to more time consuming and drastic measures. If you have cleaned your Update.esm and your DLC's you will have to do so again.
