Nexus Mod Manager forcing me to update? Please Help

Recommended Posts

Hello,

i've downloaded over 200 mods and installed them in an oder (which took me alot of time)

now i've restarted my computer and NMM wants to update...but at the same time deactivate/deinstall all of my mods.

Can you stop it somehow from updating?

or is there another solution to the problem

(i already have the 0.63.14 version, so i dont really understand it)

hope somebody can help

The Nexus stopped their support for NMM with the development of the new mod manager Vortex. Version 0.63.14 isn't the latest version, it's just the latest version you'll be able to download directly from The Nexus website. To get the latest updates of NMM, check GitHUB NMM.

You should know that NMM supports esl plug-ins as of version 0.63.17 and filesizes larger than 2GB as of version 0.64. (esm = elder scrolls master; esp is elder scrolls plug-in; esl = eldere scrolls light. Elder Scrolls because these type of files were initially developed for the Elder Scrolls games series).

Esl plug-ins are plug-ins that were developed for use in the Creation Club and they function like esm plugs but they don't count towards the total of installed plug-ins, meaning that, when you're at the limit of 255, you can still install mods with an esl. There's of course no limit on amount of mods that don't have a plug-in, like most retexture mods.

The picture you provided seems to indicate NMM wants to install, yes, but this is not something NMM does all by itself. Could it be you hit the install icon instead of the NMM exe? Also, don't be fooled by the messages. When the NMM text says it will attempt to re-install all your mods, it will just take over things as they were in a previous version. I've updated NMM two dozen times and never had an issue with mods getting uninstalled or gone missing.

By the way, the picture also shows that you have 196 mods installed but none are active, despite all plug-ins being ticked... so, it seems you did something wrong, somewhere.
