"Aye, then! It's settled!" Byron grinned. "Noo, Ah'd like to tell ye a little story. A long time ago, when Ah used tae be a fugitive in the Underdark, Ah was lookin fer an exit. Ah found one near here, but was captured by Drow slavers who were returnin from a raid. Unlucky, Ah know, but wait, it gets better. While travellin through that area of the Upperdark, before gettin to the tunnels leadin further down, they were attacked by a group of figures in black. Necromancers. They saved me from slavery, only to try to kill me for necromantic use. Ah escaped, once again, and ran. Ah ne'er saw the surface for another 10 years. Then Ah left through the exit near Ust Nuatha. Settled in Athkatla, city of coin, then when I discovered number 4 by accident, landed in a pond. Ah been travellin e'er since. Until the bandits, and yeh lot, Ah saw naeone for a long time. Noo, Ah am with a group, goin back, to kill those evil monsters. Ah'm happy. Noo, ah suggest yeh get some rest, we should move in the morning. There will be more where they came from, particularly since the entrance is so close. Ah'll take first watch." At this, he muttered "Voltair", and his hammer, which had been left against a tree, flung to his hand. He sat resting against a tree, and drank from a small flask at his waist, grimacing. Byron then settled in for the watch.

Nawen listened to what Byron said. When he finished talking she raised an eyebrow. "I have no idea what he just said." She thought and looked around the camp. She understood the taking first watch part. "Who will take the second watch?" She asked as she settled herself on the ground with her back against the tree where she had placed her pack before.

Byron glanced at Nawen, and raised an eyebrow. "Why dinnae You take the second watch? Ah'll wake ye when Ah starts tae git tired." Byron picked up a small piece of fallen tree and takes a few carving knives out of his pouch. He starts carving the log, most likely as something to keep his mind occupied during the long, lonely vigil.

"Alright. I'll take the second watch." Nawen said and pulled her hood down over to cover her face as she folded her arms on her chest. The drow also wrapped her cloak around herself like a blanket which also helped to hide that she was holding her shortswords that were also covered by the cloak. She always kept her weapons close especially when Nawen was out in the wilds.

For a brief moment the drow listened to various sounds before drifting off to sleep. It's been a while since she slept under the night sky...

Norgold looked at the bowl that Byron had given him, It actually smelled pretty good, so he took a small slip. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. However, he was hungry enough to devour the whole bowl. He noticed almost everyone did the same. He smiled as he set his bowl down, and listened to Byron story, he could catch a glimpse of what he was saying here and there, but he wasn't really trying hard enough to concentrate on his talking.

He saw Nawen finally fall asleep, he hoped that she wouldn't get a horrifying dream, like him and Rhaine did. He closed his eyes for a moment, he wanted to fall asleep again, due to the fact he hasn't slept for more then 3 hours in the past two days, but for the longest time, Norgold just couldn't fall asleep. So he might as well read his book that he bought in town. He scuffled through his pouch until he found it, opened up to the first page, and began to read.

Rhaine lay flat on her blankets, folding her wings around her like a cloak, her saddle serving as a pillow. Byron's potion and the warm stew brought a welcome drowsiness to her eyes, and within minutes, she fell into a dreamless sleep.

While the long hours passed, Byron carved the tree branch, occasionally switching knives and tools. Eventually, he pulled a bag of rough sand out of the tool pouch, and rubbed the roughness out of what he was carving. He held it up to the moonlight to inspect his handiwork. It was revealed as a beautifully carved, ornate spoon. He grinned, and moved over to where Hazel was, and left it beside her. He then went back to his pack, and started checking the pouches hanging off it, and eventually came up with a small pouch, opening the pouch, he pulled out 3 necklaces, on which a silver disk with a glyph to ward off psionic attacks was inscribed, as well as two rings of solid gold, which had the same glyph on them. He placed the necklaces by the sleeping forms of Nawen, and Rhaine, and gave the rings, reddening slightly, to Hazel and Ianthe. He placed the last one in front of Norgold, who was reading, and then resumed his place for watch. Edited by BaldurAnthology

The nymph and dryad curled up next to each other, and fell asleep more quickly than usual. Having a bellyful of warm stew seemed to help immensely with that. Their dreams were peaceful, and their sleep restful.

When it was dawn, Byron drank another dose of his awaken potion, usually a bad idea, but the others needed rest, and he was needed to prepare to return to the underdark. He waited 2 more hours, then picked up his pan, and rapped it with the handle of his hammer. "Wake up, Everyone! Ah think we should get movin, Dawn happened a while ago, we should git movin! Please take the charm necklace or ring Ah gave ya and put it on. It will ward off Psionic Attacks. And dinnae forget anything! Ah wouldnae reccomend comin back here!"

Nawen slept calmly and unlike Rhaine and Norgold she had no nightmares or unusual dreams she did not dream at all. The drow opened her eyes as soon as she heard Byron talking. "I thought you said that you're gonna wake me for the second watch." Nawen said as she got up from her spot on the ground. For a moment she looked at the amulet that Byron gave to everyone. "Why are you so sure that we will need these amulets?" The ranger asked and looked at the others. She hoped not to meet one but Mind Flayers usually do not lurk in every corner of the Underdark.
