Rhaine nodded, "Do it."

She returned to Ianthe's side, kneeling and looking down at the nymph with concern in her eyes, "Are you going to be all right, friend? That was quite the beating you took. I can heal you more if you like, or I've got some bandages in my pack if you wish to wait."

She looked around, waiting for the nymph's reply. The priestess could feel the heat of the burning skeleton on her back, white hot as it slowly disintegrated. Nawen didn't look so good, and neither did Shaori. Caladus and Illius seemed to have fared well enough, though. Hazel didn't look any worse for wear, although her eyes seemed a bit distant. Xallistine, too, appeared to be fine. It was obvious, however, that this ordeal had taken its toll upon them all. They needed to return to the surface and soon. Her eyes scanned the walls - there had to be a way to have gotten the dragon skeleton in there to start with...and most likely, that would be the path to the surface.

Shaori finds a small switch on the wall, and presses it. with the sound of stone on stone, a section of wall opens up, revealing an old ruin, and a green field. Fresh, cool breeze blows in, and the room was partially illuminated by a sunrise.

Byron looked up. placed his things in his bag, and said. "Ah'll see ye at sunset." and faded away.

Caladus ran outside, aching to feel grass again.

Xallistine coughed loudly, and walked over to Illius, who was holding the Phylactery "Careful young one, phylactery's can be dangerous... it would be best if i disposed of it, as i have knowledge of necromancy."

Ravenna looked at her friend and said "My home-town is suffering from an influx of criminals... i need some viscious creatures to add to my arsenal.. should keep crime low..."

Nawen smiled slightly and went outside. It was so good to feel the breeze and see the green grass again. She felt better already.

Illius glanced at Xallistine who approached him. He seemed like a good... Illithid which was unusual but a pleasant surprise. He knew about phylacteries himself but his knowledge about it was limited. "Will destroying the phylactery destroy the soul within it too? I am sure that we all know that it's not the bones or scales makes one evil." The sorcerer said and looked at Rhaine.

"It will not destroy the soul, no," the Doomguide replied, "but it will set it free. You see, the phylactery gives it someplace to center itself and a haven to come back to if its material body is destroyed. Thus, whenever another body is created for it sometime in the future, it can inhabit it and be 'reborn,' so to speak. Getting rid of this phylactery will render the dragon unable to complete its bid for undeath."

"But." Xallistine said "Yes there is always a but... if the cult is clever, they would have trapped the Phylactery, to ensure whomever prevented this dragon undeath, would pay the price... and i would much rather it I whom is harmed, possibly killed upon destroying this vessel, then one young such as you, with his life ahead of him." Xallistine said, kindness to his voice.

Caladus walked back inside and heard Xallistine say that it would likely kill whomever destroyed the phlactory. "Why would you sacrifice yourself? I mean, at Sunset, a ghost comes and can do some things. Why not have him do it? He's already dead."

Shaori has lain down on the grass under a tree, and dozed off.

"I would rather hide it somewhere safe instead of unleashing an evil and powerful spirit." Illius said and looked at the glowing globe in his hands. He knew better than everyone else that even if hidden things will be discovered someday but still he didn't like the first option either.

Xallistine sighed "If you allow that vessel to continue it's existence... you are granting the evil within a means to return... it must be destroyed." He warned, knowing that he was, due to being an Illithid, the one with the most chance of surviving whatever enchantment was put upon the orb.
