Omegacron
I have a couple of meshes I want to edit in Blender, but most of the Blender tutorials I'm finding so far go off into areas I don't want. Essentially, all I want to know how to do is:Load a vanilla mesh into Blender Snip a portion off Save it as a Skyrim-usable NIF againAs an example, say I want to load the mage's hood with the scarf on it. I want to snip off the scarf bit hanging down the back, resulting in only the hood & scarf part that covers the shoulders. Seems easy enough in theory, but when I try to remove vertices in Blender my hood/scarf ends up looking like something from "Crash Bandicoot" on the Playstation. TheWilloughbian
The way I do it is as follows. Load the mesh in Outfit Studio. Export as OBJ Import OBJ into Blender. Makes changes Export as OBJ Load the Original mesh and the OBJ copy into Outfit studio. Copy Bone weights from the mesh to the OBJ. Export the OBJ as a Nif Open Your new Nif in Nifskope and add your textures back. make sure everything else is set up right too. You should be good to go. However, The change you describe could be done just using the delete vertices tool in Outfit Studio, without needing to use blender.
