Mind Control Spells - Alteration

Dear fantastic mod makers,

I have started playing through as an all out wizard (spells only - not even bound weapons) and I felt the wizardry was a bit lacking.

I have tried other spell mods but they seem to be more conjuration and destruction, I was thinking of a more stealth like tactical approach of silently attacking to mind from distance.

So I was thinking of some balanced spells/powers that could do some/all/more of the following

My enemy is my friend - Makes an enemy NPC an Ally till death.

This is too dangerous for me - Makes an enemy NPC Neutral and afraid (flees)

I had a horrible dream where - Transforms an enemy NPC into a child

Lobotomise - Strips the NPC of A.I.

Ssshh - Puts NPC to sleep

A life worth living - changes undead into a living NPC Neutral and afraid.

What the hell! - Transforms NPC in to berserking frost troll!!

Blindness - Blinds NPC

Get over here - Forces NPC towards player

Come over here - Makes NPC walk towards player without alarm.

Now I am no modder so I don't know if these spells would even be possible so if not please could somebody let me know.

I think these could be a really good addition to wizardry in Skyrim

Thanks

Zoots

EDIT: Just thought on the spells where NPC's are changed from bad to good it might be an idea to absorb their black soul?

They are but most of them would require scripting.

Thank you for replying.

This is what I feared :-(

Unfortunately, scripting I can't handle

Hopefully somebody will pick up this idea and run with it.

Fingers crossed

I doubt it. A majority of these spells fall under the category of Illusion, not Alteration.

Alteration in TES is defined as : The School of Alteration involves the manipulation of the physical world and its natural properties. This skill makes it easier to cast spells like Waterbreathing, magical protection, and Paralysis.

I suppose transforming NPCs into something counts? Although Children are default essential so you would be turning them into an immortal NPC that could still kill you.

The problem is these spells aren't that useful. Damaging Confidence already exists in Illusion (Makes things run away when its low), and you could make it include Undead but that already exists as a Restoration ability (Turn Undead).

Sleep and Blind both basically work as a paralyze, so you might as just well paralyze them.

Turning someone into a berserking troll sort of exists as an Illusion spell, Frenzy. It doesn't change them but it seems fairly redundant, albeit could be fun. The problem is applying a frenzy effect takes away from the Illusion school.

I also believe Charm exists? Might just be for animals, not entirely sure.

I'm not trying to poo-poo all over your ideas but providing feedback; food for thought.

Thanks for your points.

I don't really mind which school they fall in and obviously staying true to lore is important.

Rather than being super duper cool spells I just thought these would be an added extra for the all out wizard.

Also, they would be silent without projectiles.

With the spells you mentioned already in use these are finite and once the spell wears off you're back to having to kill the npc.

I was thinking of a more passive solution in some cases which would leave the npc alive and well as they are no longer a threat, so for instance the child would be non aggressive.

You could make an enemy walk off the edge of a high tower or lure them towards you for a more stealthy dispatch.

And transformation of enemies is just pretty darn cool.

But, alas I don't have the skills to shape my vision

these spells are unbalanced since turning someone into a child will be like the turn into a chicken spell, you could do it by researching either that mod or the wabbajack but it is simply unbalancing to turn a battle mage that can defeat alduin easily into a chicken (or a child)
