Fkemman11
I am wanting to make Broken Oar Grotto a player home and want to add some things to it. Specifically, I want to add to the floor- space available in a few areas and add a bar, sauna, a dance floor, a bard, some serving wenches, some guards, and I want to expand the bedroom and add a library and a showroom for trophies and stuff. Also want to add spawn points for enemies to appear every so often and idle points for npcs/player. This is for a personal mod to begin, but, once I feel everything is complete and working properly, I intend to share it here. Now, I have some experience with the CK, x-edit, and a few other programs. But, I have never tried to edit or add anything to cells or worldspace. Could anyone give me general advice on how to proceed? Can I just start dropping things in the cell, save, and be done with it? Are there problems I should be aware of with editing existing cells? It has a hole in the cave top that allows light in- can I change where the light shines and it's brightness? Thanks in advance for any help. NexBeth
Those lessons don't address the question. They are good lessons, though, for beginners. I've never changed interior cells but exterior I have altered quite a bit and I know you have to disable objects rather than delete them and never delete navmeshes. Hopefully someone who edits interior cells will respond as it's a good question.

Didn't know that applied to worldspace edits as well. Either sink them below or disable them, correct? The thing is that I'm not entirely sure this is a "true" interior. Zilav or Sharlikran once explained that some large "interiors" in Skyrim- like Blackreach- are constructed like worldspace areas. Though, I don't know exactly what that means.
agerweb
Broken Oar Grotto is an interior cell not a worldspace. Yes disable and drop things you don't need below the level of the cave structure. If you are going to have to change any navmesh the safest thing to do is to select the existing navmesh and move the whole thing out of the way then do your own.
